“Not bad for a pet-friendly hotel....”

rooms were a little dated, but everything was very clean. Hotel maintenance was going on so there was a lot of activity. Not a very good area close by the hotel to walk the dogs, but Salida is beautiful and there are plenty of places to drive and walk the dogs.

“this place stinks -- literally”

Super 8 hotels are usually new and clean. This one was not. Super 8 must have bought an old hotel and changed the name, but nothing else. We were stuck in smoking rooms and they smelled so bad that my daughter cried and couldn't get to sleep. The carpets were so disgusting, I wouldn't let my children get on the floor.

“Average hotel in Salida”

Hotel was basic, room was small, front desk friendly and bfast was adequate Room was a bit pricey, but that is Colorado in the summer

Area recommendations
Downtown Salida is quaint and the surronding National Forest is wonderful

“Cozy spot in Salida”

This was a great spot to spend a few days hiking, soaking in hot springs and hanging out with our dog. This dog-friendly hotel had a decent free breakfast, good hot tubs and pool and friendly helpful staff. .

Area recommendations
Mt. Princeton Hot Springs is about 15 miles north and is great fun.
Dining
Mountain Spirits winery has a tasting room and restaurant (the Twisted Cork) in Salida that was a lovely spot for dinner on the patio.

“Awesome”

Very easy to find, very clean and couldn't be a smoother stay. We were a late arrival and everything was set -up for us in advance, so we got there and went straight to our room with no wait what so ever. We went to checkout and found a wonderful continental breakfast and a very friendly staff member. You know when we go back, I will make one phone call on where to stay. Super 8 in Salida, Colorado. Thank-you....Skip
