We needed a hotel in Budapest for a night before we boarded our river cruise. This hotel was so close to the river and our departure point that we were able to walk from the hotel. It was also close to many of the great sights.
This hotel is very basic, but is perfect in many ways: great location convenient to all of Budapest's attractions, inexpensive, clean. There are no ACs in the rooms, but somehow the hotel was very cool in spite of ~ 90 degrees F outside.
Great hotel in hungry. amazing breakfast spread (yes they have eggs!)
Very safe walking around during the day, a little quiet at night if walking alone, but well lit. Away from the bars meant it was quiet to sleep
"15 minute walk up to Castle Hill Hilton saves $140"
Every bit as good or better than Castle Hill Hilton unless the view is worth $150 more per day. My daughter stayed at the Hilton, so I could compare it. I think the room was as good, the staff was courteous and helpful...just didn't wear the fancy uniforms, and the complementary breakfast might have been better.
Stayed here for four nights. The hotel is situated near Hero's Square. It is quite a good walk to the centre but public transport (the metro) stops near the hotel but if you take a taxi the rates are reasonable. The hotel was lovely and the staff very helpful. We ate a couple of times at the Mirage Cafe and what we had was very enjoyable. There are so many things to see around the hotel eg The Thermal Baths, Boating lake in the beautiful garden facing the hotel. There is a Zoo and Circus inside the gardens. Also there are outdoor pools at the Thermal Baths - ideal for sun worshippers. At the baths are Spas where all kinds of treatments can be taken - facials. Massage, reflexology and many many more. We took the Hop On Hop Off bus which stops outside the hotel and that was good value. We also booked a tour called Taste of Hungry which lasted for 4 hours and we learned so much. The city centre is beautiful, lots to see and it is very clean.
The hotel is in an excellent location for getting around the city easily. The entrance to the hotel is confusing at first. Also, there was no room service: Beds were not made and bathroom not cleaned each day. Very little storage space. The girl at reception was extremely polite and helpful.
Enjoyed our stay here. We had a room with a double bed and sofa bed - they were very comfortable. We only used the hotel to sleep and shower as it is a tram and metro ride into the centre, so we stayed out all day. Reception staff spoke good English.
