Great value for money and well connected

Posted 26-Aug-2014
Pros: Size and quality of the room, river view, thermal baths.
Location: The Aquincum Museum and Romai Part are both nearby and not to be missed.
My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights in August to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The quality of the hotel exceeded expectations. We had a river view room on the 4th (top) floor which was a great size and very comfortable. The thermal baths in the basement were more substantial than I had expected with a swimming pool, two thermal pools of different temperatures, steam rooms and segregated saunas and were a great way to unwind. Everything was very clean and the service was impeccable. As expected from a hotel, the bar was incredibly pricey compared with places outside, however it is a lovely place to have a drink and they have a happy hour on house wines pre-dinner which is nice. I was slightly concerned about getting around with the hotel being outside of central Pest but you can get the HEV, trams and buses from right outside the hotel and the travelcards provide excellent value for money. If you stay here you must try the local restaurant just behind the hotel, Kehli Vendeglo, which was by far the best eating experience of our trip.

Great hotel for a short family break

Posted 25-Aug-2014
I chose this hotel for its reputation as well as its location - we had a wedding to go to very near. The staff was very friendly and made sure our stay was as enjoyable as possible. I went with my husband and two kids, and the room was prepared for our need (which sometimes can be challenging with some hotels). The facilities are excellent, and the pool area is very nice and relaxing. The whole family loved it and I can only recommend the hotel to anyone who wants to relax in this wonderful city.

Great hotel with good services and great pools. The value for money is outstanding. Bit out of the centre but only about 3000HUF for a taxi to the centre.

Hotel with spa facilities

Posted 26-Jun-2014
Pros: swimming pool
Cons: restaurant - food quality and price
Location: Local train HEV 5 south-bound last stop where you can change to Metro 2 to Pest side. Last stop northbound takes you to Szentendre
Swimming pools are nice but jacuzzi is too small, it only fits 3-4 people max, and it's always occupied by other customers. Breakfast is very over-priced and food is not very good quality.

Excellent Hotel

Posted 05-May-2014
Pros: Everything. Best hotel on our tour.
Cons: One of their thermal pools is hotter than the others, but not as hot as we are accustomed to at Colorado hot springs. Hotter would nice.
Location: If you don't mind being serenaded by violists, there is a genuine Hungarian restaurant within about 10 minutes walk. Staff will give you the name.
We enjoyed our stay at the Budapest Hotel Aquincum and look forward to going back. Both the property and the staff were exceptional. Their breakfast may look expensive, but is first-class and well worth the price. Its own thermal pools on the lower level were a welcome end to the evening. The hotel is located in Obuda, just north of the city center of Buda, and is named for the ancient Roman baths that are enshrined nearby. Two thumbs up.

Nice hotel not far from the city centre.

Posted 23-Apr-2014
Pros: The spa.
Cons: The water preasure on the shower.
Location: Easy to get to the city centre.
I really enjoyed my stay at the Aquincum hotel Budapest. The hotel itself is on a nice and quiet location overlooking the Margaret island on river Danube. My room was on the top floor with a view of the island. The room was big the bed was very comfortable and kettle with complimentary hot drinks were provided. The best part of the hotel was the spa with the swimming pool and the thermal baths. The staff was very helpful and polite.I would definitely stay there again.

Pros: the facilities
Cons: the hidden charges
Location: a bit a way from the city but accessable and Margaret island is only a few hundred yards over the bridge.
pleasant , relaxing, value for money, We would highly recommend it. What lets the hotel down ..... on arrival we were asked to pay a fee of 10000HUF per day for charges that we may or may not incur we have travelled all over Budapest without having to do this .
