A good hotel for the budget traveler

Posted 15-Oct-2014
This hotel is located across the street from the main Budapest train station, so that made it a welcome sight coming off of a 7 hour train ride from Prague. The people hanging around this area look shady especially if your arrival is at night, but the area is relatively safe. The front desk staff is friendly and helpful, and the room is comfortable. The included breakfast is a great bonus. The food selection is your standard basic selection of eggs, cold cuts, cereal, etc. I will definitely stay here again based on the convenient location and budget-friendly cost.

Convenient, good price and comfortable

Chose it because of convenience to railway station. Clean, pleasant and inexpensive. Moderate walk to Hero's square.

Upgrade if you can

Posted 27-Jul-2014
Pros: Staff, situation, clean and comfortable. Good breakfast.
Cons: Availability of ice. Fix the lift.
Location: Close to station and stop for hop on/ hop off bus which is worth doing. Nice pizza place two blocks along the same street.
Upgraded to bigger room as standard double is very small and bathroom tiny. Not expensive to upgrade and definitely worth it if there are two of you. Hotel generally modern, clean and well located. Staff extremely helpful. Breakfast better than expected with lots of fresh fruit, cereals, yoghurt, pastries, cooked usual. One lift was out of action for the duration (8 days) with no sign of being repaired, however did not have to wait long for the other lift. Aircon in room just coped - temp was 36 degrees C outside. Fridge in room, safe and coffee machine welcome (only in upgraded room). Asked for some ice from the bar - none available, surprisingly. Generally a good experience and is recommended for a city break.

Great hotel, dingy area

Could not fault the hotel but the area was run down and too far from the river and attractions. OK if you are using the metro as it's very near the station otherwise half hour walk to main area.

Really nice hotel, staff very friendly all though a lot of douche bags around the area, overall a lovely stay and the buffet breakfast was great.

Nice hotel. Great staff.

Located very close to the train station, only 5 mins walk. Supermarket right cross the street. Hotel staff were all very helpful. Free wifi and breakfast. The neighborhood is a bit run down and it was hard to find nice restaurants nearby (but with McD, KFC and BK right next to the hotel), other than that it was a pleasant stay.
