“good,”
spa is exwelent
“nicee”
the main good thing is that it combines thermal pools and residence with more or less central location - actually i used a car so that distances were minimal
“Major failure”
I think a five star hotel can't afford to give out a strictly non-smoking room which stinks of penetrating cigarette smoke. It came from the furniture and from the walls (the bed lining and the towels smelled good) - I suspect they used this room as a smoking room for years. This is a major failure which prevents me to give five or even a four star rating... It's a real shame. But if we could forget this cigarette smoke issue, the hotel could be good, with a silent and nice surrounding and a sweet but a little too spacious Spa.
“I will stay in this hotel next time I'm in Budapest.”
This is not a 5 stars hotel but 3 stars . It is clean and the breakfast it si very good.
“One good experience & one not so good”
Overall a great hotel. On this occasion, breakfast was a let down (for the money paid) and no towels were left when changed. Not a huge issue but you would expect better for the money paid. The shower broke but was repaired the following day, and the pay-tv films were not available. However, last time was fantastic and we didnt encounter any of the issues mentioned. I prob would go back and would recommend
“Great Chioce in Budapest”
Hotel is a little way out of town but there are lots of travel options very close to hotel. I personally walked everywhere, it takes 40 minutes to walk to the main centre of Budapest. I always felt safe and enjoyed getting a feel for the city walking through the suburbs. There is a hotel shuttle bus which costs just a few Euro's if you prefer. The hotel is close to Margaret Island which is nice for a walk and is also close to the ruins of the Roman town complete with ampitheatre - worth a look. I was very happy with my room, quite spacious and a view of the Danube. Staff spoke good English and seemed very efficient. I had the breakfast buffet which was a mixture of hot and cold items, not quite an English Breakfast but I would recommend the freashly cooked omlette's. The complilentary use of the spa was a great perk. After a long day it was perfect to recharge the batteries, very good. Overall would definately recommend the Ramada Plaza and come back to this lovely city.
“Not the 5 Star hotel it claims to be”
The Ramada Plaza is an OK hotel, but not more. An advantage is the spacious Spa area with a workout room, swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam bath. The whole place, though, seems to have seen better days. It is CERTAINLY not the 5 star hotel it claims to be. I had a plumbing problem in my bathroom sink, which was not taken care of, although I did complain at the reception desk. I chose the hotel because it was close to the business I had in town, but it is quite a ways from the shopping and entertainment district.
“Budapest 5 star for great value”
I am a 25 year Captain for a major airline and I travel the world and see many nice hotels. I traveled to Budapest on a personal holiday. I am here to say that this hotel has it all--Thermal water spa-- free breakfast and drinks (on executive plan) Quiet clean room, and close to Margarate Island (great jogging path) Bus /train service within 100 meters of the hotel provide quick access all over town. I suggest an all day or all week bus pass to see the city. I will stay there again. If you are afraid to use the bus then stay at a downtown hotel and pay 3 times more. The bus is so easy. And just behind the hotel 300 meters is a great Hungarian resteraunt. I think the name is "Keli" great place too. Take taxi to from airport about 25 Euros . I enjoyed it very much!
“Long walk to the city”
Had a great time in Budapest, an amazing place to visit. Hotel was excellent, only problem being how far out of the city it was. To get into the city either involved a taxi, 2 subway/trains or a 50 min walk.
“An example of what it should be like to travel in Europe”
It was very enjoyable with the hotel facilities including the SPA being fanatastic. My wife and I made it a point to get back to the hotel before dinner to enjoy the Spa incluing the numerous pools and steam room.
