    “Can't wait to go back”

This is a fabulous hotel in the Jewish quarter of central Pest, where the locals go out. Built in 2008, the hotel looks new and everything is faultlessly clean. The pool/ jacuzzi/ sauna are fabulous, and the staff really are incredibly helpful. Free wifi in every room was a big bonus, and helpful for plotting the next day's itinerary! Really easy to get to the tram and tube network but we ended up walking everywhere more often than not, as the streets in this area are so interesting and you will come across many lovely bars and cafes to dip into, with refreshingly few other tourists. Absolutely loved it, and can't wait to go back.

Central Pest makes the best base. One local told us: "prices in Budapest go up in direction proportion to how high up you are (e.g. Buda Castle District), and how close to the river you are!".

    “GREAT CHOICE.......”

Room/suite was large, very inexpensive, spotless and had so many extras. Pool area was very very nice even if we never had a chance to use it! GREAT location, fixed priced taxis to the airport, very helpful employees, computer center with printer, wonderful cafe across the street for a leisurely breakfast......

    Area recommendations
Definately use the Hop On Hop Off busses - great value and you get all over....also DO NOT MISS the "Shoes on the Danube" - a must see! Also visit a bathing house!

    “Our Home in Budapest”

Excellent hotel for our needs. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. The staff responded to all of our requests. Our first trip to Budapest was enhanced by the hotel we called home for a week.

    “Great experience”

The Hotel was spotless and very comfortable. The kitchen area was very useful and meant we could have hot snacks. The pool and spa were also excellent. Local area was mixed but had some good shops and very convenient for the tram stop. The reception staff were very helpful and spoke excellent English. I would recommend this hotel as good value for money in a good position for sight seeing.

    “What a gem in Budapest!”

Out of the 4 places we stayed on our Eastern European vacation, this was by far the nicest, especially for the cost. We had a superior suite with a separate bedroom. The toilet and the shower were in separate rooms, which does make it easier for 2 people to get ready in the morning. The room contained a kitchette and living room area, along with a small balcony. It wasn't too far walking distance to the river (about 15 minutes). I would absolutely go back again to this hotel!

    “Great Hotel!”

One of the best hotels out of 11 that we stayed at in Europe! Big room, good air conditioning, nice staff, good location, good hotel restaurant, good WiFi. Separate living room, full kitchen with fridge, coffee maker, and a separate room for the toilet that was not in the washroom. They have a free washer/dryer down in the basement - the staff (3 of them) helped us use it. Pretty much everything about this hotel was excellent and we highly recommend it. We were staying on a Sunday and Monday night, but there is a nice little street within a couple of blocks with outside tables to have food and beverages, the waiters at one of the restaurants spoke very good engish and were extremely nice.

    “great hotel great city”

We stayed in this hotel 22nd to 24th september 2011 and it was excellent nice room ( ours was 001) good size with seating area and small adjacent kitchen with dishwasher!. A good size bathroom with integral hairdrier and reception had a good sample of adapters to borrow if you needed them which we did. The hotel is in easy walking distance of the center of budapest and all its touristy (is that a word) bits.A great stay, a great city and food and beer a great price what more could you want.

    Area recommendations
The Parliament is a great place to visit, however, you will need to take your passport to get in for free (only citizens of the EU get in for free) and be prepared to allow 3hrs for waiting and tour. Over the danube and by elizabeth bridge you can take the railway up to the the castle and palace whtch dominate the bude side of the city views over pest are great( a zoom on the camera is a good idea suggest 100 to 150 mag.) We booked a river cruise and went for the one during the day with two drinks for 3600 huf about ten pounds this lasted 1.5hrs very good value for money which sums up this city, everything is fairly priced. The shopping and tourist shops are located behind the areas between elizabeth bridge and Liberty bridge on the pest side also a great deal of resturants that cater for everyones tastes. One piece of advise that we found useful only cross the roads at the designated points as that what the citizens of the city do people dont cross roads where they feel like it.

    “Fantastic first time in Budapest!”

At the hotel the staff were very friendly and helpful, the hotel was also prestine and very clean. It has been beautifully decorated throughout and all the rooms are suite's. We had booked a Superior Suite which contained a fitted kitchen, lounge area with sofa bed, a large area for the bed and fitted wardrobes and bathroom. We could not fault it at all. If there is one thing I would say, the bed was too soft for me, but everyone is different. Fantastic value for money in a 5* resort! The Chess Restaurant is now under new management (last 8 weeks) and served a very good breakfast with a mixture of cereals, fruits, pastries, meats and cheeses as well as bacon, eggs, juices etc. You can also have various meals and snacks. We were just 2 streets back from Andrassy Street which is one of the main streets taking you to either the Danube River or Hero's Square & the City Park with Spa's, Castles etc. We were literally in the middle of everything. There is so much to do and see, so we need to return again one day and we would most definitely stay at this hotel again!

    Area recommendations
We stayed on the Pest side of the city. Andrassy Street, Vaci Utca, overlooking the Danube, Oktogon Square (which is on Andrassy Street) are the main places we walked around, other than a few side streets to get us from place to place. Once you get your bearings it is very easy to walk around with a map. We didn't take any public transport, but if you wanted to take the Tram they were all over the city and extremely cheap I believe. I think if we had stayed longer than 4 nights we would have tried it. By walking alot you get to see so much.
    When to go
They say the best time to go is Autumn or Spring. 15th-19th Sept were our travel dates. We had blue skies and lovely sunshine.
    Getting there
We took a flight with Easy Jet - approx 2 hours and upon arrival took a taxi to the hotel - approx 20 mins. Once in the city the buildings were stunning.
    Must see
This is a very historical city with lots to see and do. We visited the Opera House, Hero's Square, City Park, the Szechenyi Baths (but didn't bathe), St Stephen's Basilica, we crossed the Chain Bridge and visited the Royal Palace & the Hungarian National Gallery. We also took a river cruise for 1.5 hours which also sails round Margarets Island and passes the Houses of Parliament - what stunning architecture!
    Shopping
Shopping is great in Budapest - the Pest side. Andrassy Street and Vaci Utca have it all. Designer shops on Andrassy Street and what I call your good high street shops on Vaci Utca, with plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from. If you like your convenience stores these are also everywhere with a Spar, Tescos Express and 24 hour little stores along the side streets.
    Dining
We found some excellent bars and restaurants between the hotel and Andrassy Street near the 'Oktogon' on 'Liszt Ferenc ter'. The best we found was a bar/restaurant called 'Bohemia'. We went there 3 times! Amazing Steak Tartare! However everywhere we walked especially the 'Vaci Utca' area has something for everyone.
