“Wonderful Buda Alternative”
Hotel is in a great location being near the metro/train station and a super market. The park out front was great for running/walking in the mornings. We found a few fabulous restaurants and cafes nearby. And, it was a great walk up to the top of castle hill with spectacular views. The hotel itself was nice, the rooms a bit smaller than what we Americans are used to, but we just slept there, so not a problem. Also, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Definitely would recommend this hotel!!
“Would stay here again!”
We chose this hotel for it's location...extremely close to tram, metro and train stations...super convenient for catching transit to get around the city. Overall, a great hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the breakfast buffet was great and meals in the dining room were delicious and reasonably priced. Our room was more than adequate...a bit small, by North American standards, but pretty much what you would/should expect in Europe. Given the close proximity to various transit options, the street noise heard in the room (we were on the 7th floor) is fairly noticeable, but you can't have it both ways...if you want a quieter hotel room experience, choose a hotel further away from public transportation hubs. But if you want ease of transit options...this hotel is perfect. I would...and will..definitely stay here again!
“Value for money hotel in Budapest”
For a comfortable and bargain stay in Budapest, pick this hotel. Room was spacious and clean, although a bit dated and could be picked for a bit of revamping (wallpapers and carpet seemed old and worn out). Nevertheless, air conditioning worked well, the bed and bedding as well as the bathroom were all fine and the overall impression was welcoming and decent. The hotel's location was also very convenient, close to the Buda castle and the World trade conference center and one of the city's main train station is also close by. I would rate this hotel at 3 and 1/2 stars and would stay here again.
“Below average”
Signs of wear and tear are everywhere. Continental breakfast is silly expensive (GBP 10). No coffe or tea making facilities in the room. Dust in not so hidden places in the room. They should do better .....
“pretty decent”
The hotel was nice, the staff was friendly, and the room was clean and comfortable. Also, there was a mini fridge in the room, which was convenient, and there is a thermostat in the room, so we could keep it nice and toasty even when it was cold and miserable outside. And the hotel is in a pretty good location -- right by a metro stop and a tram stop. Overall, we were satisfied, especially for the price. A few issues to be aware of: 1. It's not terribly spacious, so you may find the room (especially the bathroom and bath tub) a bit snug. But it's Europe, so that's probably to be expected. 2. There was no coffee maker in the room, so you can't make yourself coffee, tea, or hot water -- which was a bit sad for me, especially when I started coming down with a sore throat. This is probably the main thing they could improve upon, particularly since it seems quite doable to just put a Mr. Coffee in each room. 3. Even though our room was non-smoking, the lobby is still quite smokey as smoking is allowed there. Again, it's Europe, so that's probably to be expected, but I thought that Americans like me, who are used to smoke-free environments, might want to be aware of that beforehand. As I said, though, it was overall a good hotel and I would recommend it.
“Do not stay here”
Under no circumstances would I describe this as a 4 star hotel!! The rooms were dated in and in desperate need of refurbishment. Noise from the highway at night made it difficult to sleep. It was also a poor location, public transport stops at midnight and the nightlife is in Pest.
“Decent hotel for the money at a great location”
The hotel is at a great location, if you have business in Buda. The castle is 10 minutes walk. Decent free parking. Public transport is closeby Metro is just 3 minutes walk. The hotel itself is old. It is a communist era building, with small windows. Lots of noise comes in from the street. The older rooms are worn, they are in serious need of remodeling, specailly for a 4 star hotel. The overall experience was OK.
“great hotel in a quiet location”
very impressed with this hotel...
“Hotel in Buda”
Goed hotel. Prima ontbijtbuffet.
