“A little tired”
The staff at the Korona Hotel Panzio were extremely helpful answering each and every one of our queries. The room itself, although a little tired was very comfortable. If, like us, you are compulsive tea drinkers, take your own travelling kettle, as one was not supplied, nor was a hairdryer. We took a laptop and used the hotels free WiFi, which was invaluable for planning our days, mapping out bus routes, etc. I would recommend this hotel to others, but with reservations. The quickest way into town, by bus is a 10-15 min. walk up a relatively steep incline, which could be awkward if elderly or in-firmed. A bus-stop just outside goes down the hill but that requires a change. We walked into town on our 1st day just to get our bearings, it was just under 3 miles. To end this review on a positive, the food in the hotel restaurant was excellent. A really good breakfast, inclusive, set us up for the day, and the evening meals, I would have walked from town for! Overall we found the hotel really good value for money, and if we return to Budapest will book this hotel.
“Suburban gem”
We stayed over a long and very cold weekend at the end of November. If travelling for 20 minutes into town on a public transport system (buses with two controls, full throttle and full break) that hasn't changed much in 40 years is, for you, as part of the experience - then the Panzio is a good choice. Room basic but clean and warm and the big surprise was that the restaurant far exceeded the quality of a couple of the guidebook recommended downtown choices (and we are foodies!) at half the price. Very friendly and helpful staff. A beautiful if somewhat faded city with lots to do. The thermal baths are amazing. Rip-off merchants not too bad and they will bargain.
“Extremely good value”
Very good breakfast. Lovely chocolate croissants and cappucino. Hotel difficult to find at first as it is up in the hills out of the centre. No 8 bus takes you to top of Sasadi Ut road (get off at the end of adjacent 59 tram line). Then either walk down hill to hotel or take 53 bus (passes every 10 mins). Free wifi in rooms.
“Enjoyed our Stay”
Although we had a car, we tried to take public transit as much as we could in Budapest. The bus stopped right in front of the hotel and the connections to where we wanted to go were great. (half hour to downtown attractions) The front desk spoke English which was a real plus for us and they were very willing to help us with understanding the public transit - bus, tram, subway and gave us experienced and correct directions. We could also book some of our local excursions right at the front desk which simplified our stay. The breakfast offered daily every morning was adequate but nothing special. The staff was friendly. I would recommend this hotel to others.
“traveller”
This hotel is the perfect location in Bratislava. Near tbe city centre but still quiet. Secure car parking, excelllent breakfast, computer in room . This isa fine hotel with very helpful staff and excellent service alll round. It scores top marks from us.
“ok”
Very budget hotel, long way from city centre, but excellent public transport links, very friendly staff.
“Would go back, now that we know the location.”
We prefer sheets and blankets rather then what they first provided. They did exchange them appon request. The people were very plesant & helpful.
“Korona Hotel Panzio”
Nice staff, nice neighborhood, good breakfast
“Excellent Place and location”
Great staff, very user friendly, transport (bus 59) at the door. Internet and full breakfast included. Upscale residential neighborhood in the Sasad district. Immaculate facility.
“perfect,clean,comfortable excellent staff”
Could not fault this place. Spotless. linen all very well laundered. not a mark or stain anywhere, wish that laundry service was over here. Apparently a guest once found a spoon under the matress, unfortunately I was unable to lift the matress to find mine !!! The balcony was a joy very peaceful and coffee and meals were served there if you wish. They were very good at suggesting places to see and booked the taxi for us which always came promptly and returned us to the hotel at the time we asked for. I am disabled and had a few stairs to contend with but they could not have been more helpful and I managed very well as I am not wheelchair bound. Best spot in the city don't miss it and the price was right !
