“Exceded Expectations!”

We got a really good deal thgrough expedia for this hotel for our weekend break. We wrote a noet to the hotel that it was our aniversary when we booked, and the hotel kindly upgraded us for free to a beautifil, spacioud delux room on a corner. After spending the day out, we returned to find a bottle of greatr hungarian champagne on ice with glasses, cake and fruit, all complimentary. We could not have asked for more. The cleaning staff were great, as were the reception staff. Breakfast was amazing, with everything one could even think of to eat or drink. Our room was ready early so we could check in early. The location was fantastic for shopping ( being connected to the west end shopping mall, but also near to all the main attractions and down town area of bars, cafes and restaurants. We only took a metro once, as we could walk everywhere. I highly recomend this hotel, and the hotel went the extra mile to make our stay in Budapest a very memorable one.

“A very nice hotel in Budapest”

Hilton Budapest West End is located next to the train station. The location is quiet convenient. It took about 20-30 minutes walking to the tourist attractions. The hotel provided excellent breakfast buffet. We stayed there for two nights and really enjoyed.

“Budapest - Good location”

Location is next to Nyugati train station. Good comfortable beds. Subway is very close. I have stayed here before and will continue to go back. It is a very nice western style hotel. The hotel is connected to a large shopping mall that also has a large food court area.

“Loved Budapest”

I agree pretty much with all the 15 reviews that go before. Specifically : avoid the heftily-priced breakfast and go for the Express one down in the ground floor cafe . At the end of our stay we were [almost] charged for a main breakfast that we never had, on a chitty that we had never signed. A smart, clean hotel, but not luxurious and more an upper 4 star than 5 star, I think. Its position next to Nyugati train station makes it a dream to arrive at : from Terminal 1 at the airport take the train for a brilliantly low price, taking 25 minutes, but beware the lift wasn't working on both our days at the airport train station [a steep 50 stairs is a long way with a heavy bag!]. The hotel position is slightly out from the main historical and sight-seeing areas but they are all only 2 stops away. We bought the 7 day Hetijegy transport card from down in the Metro station and it was great value. The No 2 tram down the Pest embankment has great views and the bridges look fantastic at night. We had our tickest inspected twice, both times on the No 2.

Area recommendations

Memento Park - a collection of old communist statues gathered together out of town, with a film running continuously of secret service spying techniques. We followed the travel directions in the free City Guide which were very elaborate + took ages. We returned a different route and would recommend the following : to get there take the No 4 tram to its southernmost stop Bocskai- Fehervari, then the 150 bus.

Getting around

If you go out to the Buda Hills and the cogwheel railway [great views] our books referred to taking the 56 tram to the start of the railway. We don't think this exists any more, but has been replaced by the 61.

“Wonderful Hotel--Be Prepared to Defend Your Reservation”

I have stayed here 3 times, and it is a wonderful hotel. We were there over New Year's Eve, and there were loud parties both downstairs and outside (including a stage). However, the sound proofing was good enough that it did not bother us. This hotel is a wonderful hotel, definitely a business class hotel that strives for perfection. Be aware, though, that if you have a rate that requires a deposit they are dead serious about no changes--including extentions. This particular night I booked was an extention to a reservation through the Hilton website when they would not extend my stay. The front desk had already figured out what I had done, and had made arrangements for us to stay in the same hotel room all 4 nights. However, be sure to print out your Expedia print out and be prepared to defend any "extras" that might be thrown in according to your voucher. They will not readily honor them.

“Highly recommended”

An excellent hotel and most importantly, it is airconditioned. Only disadvantage, a bit far from the city centre, however, if you enjoy walking, you will enjoy the location. The adjacent Mall has lots to offer.

“Would stay here again”

Would hghly recommend. Very convenient location. Staff friendly and helpful. Room extremely clean. Only complaint was poor room service, however, when we complained the service manager was extremely helpful and instructed the kitchen to reproduce our order to a higher standard.
