Beautiful Hotel

Posted 09-Oct-2014
Pros: Very beautiful and ornate hotel
Cons: The restaurant menu did not have a lot of selection. Introduction of sandwiches would be a good idea.
Location: Location of the hotel was a good long walk to the most of the attractions.
Wow sums up this hotel. Very ornate and beautiful. Breakfast selection was vast and staff really friendly. Bedroom was large with a huge bathroom. On the downside the lunch menu could have had a bit more variety and a good walk to most of the attractions. Even if you stay 1 night it is a must as have never seen a hotel like it.

Would return

Posted 08-Oct-2014
Pros: Staff and location
Cons: Bigger pool
Location: Ruin pubs off the road opposite are fab and a good price (Alcatraz / Fudge) are two I remember. Trip on the Danube and just walking around
Stayed 3 nights over a weekend as a city break. Arranged transfers through the hotel which were perfect. Had drinks a couple of times in the hotel. Loved the relaxing Sauna/Steam Room.

More than just a holiday,

Posted 10-Sep-2014
Pros: The helpfulness and friendliness of the staff. The proximity to public transport to get around this lovely city. The building itself.
Cons: The only very picky comment would be that the coffee and tea at breakfast could have been hotter. Perhaps this is a very British comment?
Location: On the fringe of the historic part of the City, but easy access to all main attractions.
We were booked in to the Hotel for 8 days in a superior room, but at check in were informed that they were able to upgrade us to a junior suite. Just the first of many lovely surprises. The joy of living in this beautifully resorted and historic building, the sumptuous breakfast buffet, the magnificence of the dining areas, the style and comfort of the furnishing, all made this holiday a very memorable experience.

The best hotel in Budapest.

Posted 02-Sep-2014
Pros: Everything, and most important the Grand Cafe and the great attention to details coming from the Hotel's personnel
Cons: Magnetic Cards don't work often in the elevators.
Location: Have a breakfast - Lunch - diner- at the Grand Cafe. Close your eyes and try to go back 120 years. A moment in a place of History
A great place to stay, where Europe History has left one of its best mark.

Great hotel - loved it

Posted 01-Sep-2014
Pros: The hotel was within walking distance of nearly everything.
Cons: It would have been nice to have a small refrigerator
Location: We walked nearly everywhere and used the metro for other things. We toured the castle district, parliament, museums, everything!
We had a great time. The hotel is beautiful inside. They didn't have our king room as requested so they upgraded us to a jr suite on the 5th floor, which had a balcony. It was beautiful! There was plenty of room to spread out and the bathroom was a 5 piece, modern with a soaking tub. We went downstairs to the warm pool and that was nice after a long day of walking. The staff was very accommodating and helped with all sorts of questions. We even walked to the hotel from the train station. For dinners we walked up to the cafes off the Oktagon and picked places that were crowded with other visitors -- perfect!

AT ARRIVAL THEY TALL US THAT RESERVETION DO NOT INCLUDED BREAKFAST AND WE HAVE IT, BUT AT THE END, IT WAS SOLVE. BE CARFULL WITH TAXIS THEY DO NOT USE METER, THEY CHARGE US 20 EUROS FOR A RIDE OF 1 MILE. VISIT THE OPERA AND THE MUSEUM OF FINE ARTS, THEY ARE BEATIFULL.

Stunning Hotel

Posted 12-Aug-2014
This hotel is just plain stunning. Soft sheets, impeccable standards. Only one "complaint". While the bathroom is a wonder to look at with it's ultra modern fixtures, it makes no sense whatsoever. A completely flat sink that spills the water over the side like a waterfall. The sink, I mean, is a flat slab of marble. The water doesn't run "into" a basin shape. It runs on and over a flat top with 3 little holes in the middle where I suppose the water is meant to drain, except it doesn't. LOL. Same for the shower. water all over a marble floor, which to stop yourself from slipping, best to lay down plenty of towels on the floor......And believe it or not....I would stay there again!! Because everything else was outstanding.
