“Just what we needed”
The hotel is on the river and I went for a long weekend with my friend. The hotel staff spoke good English and were really helpful with recommendations etc. The rooms were just what we needed and my only criticism would be that the hairdryer is not suitable for anyone with thick or long hair! As you come out of the hotel, turn left and walk a few metres to the most fabulous steak restaurant down some steps.
“faultless”
this was me and my partners first visit to budapest and i couldnt of found a better hotel.the staff were friendly, the room was clean and comfortable with a balcony view over the danube.if you read this review and its your first time in budapest save yourself time reviewing other hotels and just book art'otel.you wont find better, believe me.!
“Art'otel was lovely, I would recommend it”
The hotel is 5 mns walk from the metro and bus station, on the Buda side of the Danube, almost opposite the houses of parliament. Very easy to find and easily accessible from the airport. My friend and I caught the bus (200) from outside the terminal, you can buy a tickt in the newsagent in the terminal, don't forget to validate it on the way in . some of the little machines don't work so you may have to try another further in the bus. When you get to the metro you can buy a book of tickets or a 2,3 or 7 day pass, which came into its own as we could hop on or of the trams , buses or metros when we were tired of walking. The hotel was very nice, fascinating art work, nice staff, nice rooms, very comfortable beds, very clean, nice en-suite bathroom. The breakfast was good, buffet style with plenty for everyone and with the option of having fried eggs and ham or bacon cooked to order.Tea and coffee, cereals, different breads and rolls and croissants, fresh fruit, cold meats and cheeses.Within walking distance of most sites, lots to do. Lots of restaurants and cafes near by also, if you want a change from the hotel. We had a nice relaxing break
“Excellent! Stay here if you are going to Budapest”
Fantastic Hotel, we have stayed here twice now, and standards are always immaculate and continually improving. Staff are super friendly, ideal location for anyone looking to do the sightseeing of Buda and Pest. Other hotels in Budapest look quite shabby, but this place is for those witha touch of class and want the best at a great price. TIP: Order your Taxi from the Airport to the hotel via the hotel reception. It costs much less than the dodgy taxi drivers hanging about at the airport. (9000 HUF from Airprot to Hotel and 6500 for the return journey). 5* in my personal view.
“Highly recommended”
Very good hotel for price. Good sized, well decorated rooms. Well cleaned and the staff service was extremely commendable. Myself and 3 friends would all certainly return there and will definitely recommend it to our friends.
“Buda side is no downside”
Really clean well presented hotel, friendly and helpful staff at the desk and bar/restaurant. Nice quirky touches with carpets depicting dominoes, buttons. Great river view from the front rooms. The court yard is nice so a room facing that is probably good too. Hotel restaurant was good and not too pricey. We didn't eat breakfast at the hotel so can't comment on that. Nice bar, not frighteningly dear (for a hotel). Don't be put off by being on the Buda side. It's only about 10-15 mins walk across the chain bridge into town and about the same up the hill to Oude Buda and the Fisherman's Bastion, which there is a great view of from the back of the Hotel. Great views of the Parliament building from our river front room. There is also a Metro station within 5 mins walk and a Spar which is good if you want to take some Hungarian supplies home and much cheaper than buying in the city centre. Briiliant food nearby with several nice restaurants around the Metro station. Be sure to go to the Belgian bar and the Sailor Bar/restaurant (good breakfast) down the street from the hotel. It's only about 5 mins walk down to the fenicular railway up the hill to Oude Buda, the castle and Bastion if you don't fancy walking up the hill. Really nice "local" bar next to the entrance to the catacombes (in the road behind where the horse and carriages stop at the top of the hill). Really friendly owner and a great sausage snack available to order with your beer.
“Choose this hotel”
Rooms are clean, roomy and fabulous. All the art on the walls is modern and interesting and the staff could not be more friendly, efficient and helpful. Rooms overlook the Danube or face the Fisherman's Citadel - just gorgeous. Couldn't recommend it highly enough. Breakfast is excellent, too. Restaurant recommendations from the staff were spot on.
“art otel”
Excellent hotel
“Lovely hotel, in a quiet but scenic area of Buda”
Great hotel for the price we paid. Fantastic view of the Danube, Parliament, and Szechenyi Bridge. Service good, rooms big and clean, and the decor is interesting. Free wifi would be nice, but there's a LAN cable in the Business Centre you can plug into for free broadband. There's a decent restaurant next door (Carne di Hall) and a good (cheap, comfortable, unpretentious) neighbourhood bar a couple of streets back where Fo Utca meets Lanchid Utca. This spot at the foot of Castle Hill is kind of quiet, so if you're looking for something right in the heart of nightlife etc, you might be better getting somewhere on the Pest side of the river, but if you need a pleasant base for sightseeing and so on, you can't go far wrong.
“Great hotel, good value”
Situated opposite the parliament buildings. Very nice modern hotel, our room was situated at the back which meant we had to carry our cases up and down a number of steps, which wasn't very good. The breakfast was quite expensive for what you got.
