We arrived on Friday evening with my parents for a weekend city break. We had upgraded to luxury rooms with views over the river and let the hotel know that we were celebrating a couple of birthdays - when shown to our rooms we were not only treated to amazing views but a glass of champagne as well. It was a perfect finishing touch and set us up to enjoy a wonderful stay. We swam each morning in the pool which nobody else seemed to do - had the pool and sauna to ourselves every day. Hotel staff were professional and polite which is what you expect at a Sofitel but many of them went the extra mile and were very friendly too. We will go back soon.
The hotel was great. The staff were really good. They provided a lot of information about things to do around town and were really friendly.The room was really clean and comfortable. No complaints whatsoever. I would definitely stay here again.
Great welcome on our arrival, the staff were happy and extremely attentive. Andras was so helpful throughout our stay...nothing was too much trouble. He certainly is a great asset to the hotel. The Hotel is relatively new and consequently the interior is up to date, clean and accommodating. Our room was cleaned spotlessly every day. It was spacious, had a well appointed en suite with all the mod cons. The bed was a super king size with very comfortable independent mattresses. Breakfast is buffet style with hot or cold offerings and plenty of fruit, cereals and yogurts. We loved the location of the Hotel and the Pest side of the city was only a 15 minute walk away across the Margit bridge. Take a tram across, get off at the end of the bridge and catch a tram which takes you along the Danube (with it on your right hand side) and stops at frequent intervals for walks into the city. Buy yourself a 2 day ticket for the Red Bus "Hop on ,hop off" which also covers night trips and a boat trip on the Danube...great value.... these can be purchased at the Hotel.
