“A real gem of a hotel, definitely going back!”

We arrived at the Unique Hotel and although Expedia had messed up our booking and they had not been told of our booking (although we had!), the hotel were quick to help us out by booking us into another more superior hotel for the first night which was just around the corner. The second night we came back to Unique and the hotel sent a taxi to bring us back at no cost to us. They could not have been more helpful and friendly. Our hotel room was spotless, the bathroom was modern, again spotless and well cared for with modern fittings and furnishings and a lovely shower (multihead). The bedroom was clean, wooden flooring was great and all the furnishings looked new. The concierge (male) was extremely helpful and spoke good English and our cases were taken to our room and the hotel looked after them when we checked out because our flight was much later in the day. The breakfast was more than adequate and in a pleasant area with no smoking. We would certainly go to this hotel again, centrally situated and within walking distance of trams and metro or walkable into town (about 20 minutes). We never had to use public transport! Even though we stayed in a superior more expensive hotel the night before, we felt that Unique was the better of the two hotels. Expedia's inefficiency left a lot to be desired on this occasion, but the hotel and their friendly staff more than made up for Expedia's failure to provide a seamless travel plan for us. Unique hotel & experience!

Area recommendations
Visit the old city and eat at a traditional Romanian restaurant called Caru cu Bere in Str Stavropoleos nr 5, for a real experience in a beautiful building built in 1879. Not expensive but will blow you away just for the architecture. It is world famous. If you go on a weekend, you may need to book ahead to get a table. We went at about 2 pm midweek and got in without waiting but it was busy

“superb hotel”

Friendly and helpful staff, clean and tidy rooms, situated in a perfect part of the city for exploration. If I'm ever back in Bucharest I be staying there again.

Area recommendations
The old city is a must to visit, lots of cafe's and restaurants in hidden places and some of the buildings are amazing.

“Beautifull Bucharest”

Travelling with friends for the new year celebrations in Bucharest couldn't have been better in terms of our hotel accommodation and the excellent, friendly and well informed staff. They all spoke fabulous english, much better than our Romanian! The rooms were lovely and spacious, warm and well decorated. The breakfast was plentiful with a great choice and superb coffee. We all had a wonderful time and would recommend Hotel Unique to everyone wishing to visit the city.

Area recommendations
All of it needs to be seen as there is great diversity in old and new. The park is magnificent.

“Fantastic Hotel!”

This is definitely not a three star hotel it is more like 4, the bathroom was spotless and the bed was really comfortable. The staff are extremely friendly and speak excellent english. Although romania is not as yet completely set up for tourism the staff were really helpfull with getting around the rest of romania by public transport and reccommending places to go. Use the hotel transfers as local taxis especially at the airport should be avoided - they will take you the longest way possible around and will charge far too much! The only criticism would be that the central heating was ridiculously hot, but we found this in most places.

“Unique is unique with friendly staff that go above and beyond for their guests”

First off, the staff here is extremely friendly, speak perfect English and are always willing to help you in anything you need. The only down side there is no parking at all. Heck, there is no parking in Bucharest period. So if you stay in Bucharest, don't rent a car. Just take a taxi cab or the metro. The hotel was gracious enough to let me use their apartment suite for the occasional photo shoot, so I would have a nice room for great photos free of charge. You can't beat that! If the taxi driver doesn't speak English, the staff was more than willing to tell the driver where to go. What's nice about this hotel as compared to others is the laminate flooring in the rooms. Much better than carpet since it's easier to clean. It gives the room a better sense of clean to the traveller. I know I preferred this to carpet. The wireless internet in the room was free and was much quicker than some other hotels I've stayed in. So that was nice too. The biggest thing about this hotel was that it was away from the busy and noisy streets of Bucharest. I can only imagine how noisy it would be at the larger chain hotels. So if you want a quiet, clean hotel with nice staff, you can't go wrong with Hotel Unique. I'd definitely stay here again!

Area recommendations
Old town Bucharest is definitely the most interesting part. Lots of museums to see too. But the best thing to do while in Bucahrest if you are a music lover is to catch a classical music concert at the Ateneul Roman. BEAUTIFUL building and great accoustics. Not to be missed!

“Great Location”

Unique Hotel - great location - short walk to metro station and airport bus. Breakfast options sufficient, staff willing to assist with all needs. Quiet location and a few good restaurants down the road to the left.

Area recommendations
Bucharest is easy to walk around in if not jump on the metro (buy a 10 trip ticket if going to use it lots) - free bike hire available in Herastrau Park - pleasent ride

“Definitely a winner.”

Very nice Butique Hotel. Rooms are clean and well appointed Breakfast is plentiful and diverse, served in a quaint place, full of flowers. Staff is friendly, profficient in english and very helpful.
