“Nice clean hotel in Old City Bucharest”
This is a small hotel located in old town Bucharest. The prices are reasonable and the rooms are clean. The bed is a little stiff for my tastes but I think that's the standard in Europe. The staff is friendly and helpful, and speak good enough English. They have a small breakfast cafe and are affiliated with the Van Gogh restaurant next door so they can provide food / drinks whenever you need. I had only two minor gripes: the Wifi doesn't work very well...it goes in and out and the signal is weak. It seems to work better in the lobby. My other little gripe probably can't be fixed: the elevator is an original from the building (which is old) and incredibly tiny. Two people with one or two bags is all it can accommodate. But don't let these minor issues keep you from booking a room here. All in all this is a clean, friendly and affordable place in the best part of the city.
“Great Hotel and Location to visit Bucharest”
Stayed for five nights at the Rembrandt in late July 2011. A fantastic experience! The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful and all spoke great English. I had a slight problem with the wireless internet access in the room (low signal) but the staff very quickly supplied me with a cable to plug in my laptop and all was great. Cable TV was good with loads of free English channels (CNN, Nat Geo, Discovery etc.) Bucharest in July can be very hot and humid but the air conditioning in the room was first rate and quickly cooled the room within minutes of turning it on. We booked a "tourist class" room which apprently are smaller than the other rooms - however we found it to be more than adequate and actually larger than many rooms we have stayed in at other hotels in many countries. Only 'problem' was that the particular room we were in had very little natural light and no window that looked at anything other than a back yard. I believe other rooms have better views. Location of the hotel could not be better. Within 2 minutes you can walk to many bars and restaurants and within 5 minutes is the Universitade Metro station. We could not have asked for a better hotel/staff/location/service and would definitely recommend this hotel to other people and will stay there again if/when we next visit Bucharest.
“July 6, 2011 Visit to Rembrant Hotel”
The hotel is in a historic site and not accessible by car. You have to park 3 to 4 blocks away (if you are lucky to find one) and then walk on part cement part cobble stone with your luggages. It is also difficult to find since the road towards the hotel has a lot of one way street. It took us more than an hour to find our way. I would not recommend this hotel unless you are too adventurous and healthy for the long luggage haul. The room is not bad though and the hotel clerk was very friendly. Infront of the hotel is a restaurant and people smoke of course. Not a good place to be if smoke bothers you. There are a lot of excavations and repairing of public utilities near the hotel and nearby buildings. I would most likely stay at a different location next time.
“I visit frequently and only stay at the Rembrandt Hotel”
Great Hotel. Excellent service, large room, very clean, very comfortable, had everything I needed.
“Great location and value”
I've stayed at the Rembrandt multiple times and recommend it highly. The neighborhood is great, particularly since they are have made improvements to the streets around the hotel. As a solo traveler, I feel safe and have no problems getting around. There are lots of restaurants in the area. Hotel staff are welcoming and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable. There is also a great breakfast although the small breakfast room can get crowded on weekends. This is my go to hotel in Bucharest.
“Excellent small hotel in ideal location”
This is an excellent small hotel with personable and extremely helpful reception staff. Our room was enormous by the standards of most central city hotels and interestingly decorated. The breakfast buffet was more than adequate, although there are few tables in the mezzanine breakfast area and people would have to use the reception area below if too many people turned-up concurrently. But what makes this hotel special, in addition to its staff, is its location in the pedestrianised Lipscani/Old Town district, with many cafes, bars and restaurants within walking distance. I was also able to walk to the Parliament building in a leisurely 20 minutes.
“...Great experience in Bucharest, Romania.”
...Great experience. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a good location with many entertainment options close by. I will definitely stay at this hotel the next time I am in Bucharest.
“Rembrandt is a classic”
I was very impressed with the service at this hotel. The rooms were bigger than I am used to in the classic Euro style. But the front desk really was super helpful. There was nothing I needed. I would say that the breakfast comments were overblown. Its a small, traditional Euro breakfast with hard-boiled eggs being the only hot element of the breakfast. It was centrally located and on a pedestrian downtown center. Very nice to walk around at night and enjoy the restaurants.
“I'll visit again”
Very good location of the hotel, very clean, kind personnel, very good breakfast !
“Good small hotel”
Very good small hotel, staff extremely friendly and helpful
