“Great location, good service, helpful staff. La Mama (Romanian) restaurant a 3 block walk.”

Easy to book, phone help with booking, confirmations fast. Could have gotten same price online with hotel chain "specials".

“Spot on”

High standard hotel, reasonably good value, access to the business lounge was a plus, no real negatives in the experience (well, maybe absence of free wifi)

“Western Europe standard”

The hotel is what one would expect in Western Europe; the only short coming was the older TV (for a 5 star Hilton there should be a flat screen in the room). The breakfast bar had a great variety of foods and everything was fresh and delicious. Service and staff were outstanding. The hotel is downtown and close to many architectural landmarks; Bucharest in general is in a process of reconstruction (getting away for the commy past), so don't be surprised if you walk out and there is a road being fixed over here or a building facade is being renovated over there. You will not find a 5 star hotel in the rest of the civilized world at that price.

The Old Town, Cismigiu park, The Village Museum.

May and September (summers are hot).

Getting around

Cabs are very cheap; traffic and parking are terrible; don't drive unless you are getting out of the City.

What to pack

This past May (2011) short sleeve shirts, jeans, summer dresses, rarely a sweater were necessary.

“Almost 5* quality at 3* prices”

Much better than the price would indicate. Great location (though we were advised not to walk around at night by a local), but NOT in the old town. Good internet at reasonable price per stay in room (cabled only), and free in the lobby, good quality breakfast, and perfectly good rooms. Didn't have coffee machines in the rooms, and I had to ask for an ironing board to be sent up, but those were the only niggles. Definitely will be my Warsaw base from now on.

“Can't wait to go back”

Great service, room was very clean, had acess to the Hilton Lounge was very impressed with the quality of the food and beverages every day ! I couldn't wait to get back to the hotel every day to access the lounge!

“A great place to stay in Bucharest”

A centrally located hotel which makes many attractions within walking distances. Cleann and comfortable. We enjoyed our 4 days stay at Hilton.

“Avoid Saturdays in July”

Good hotel in a good location but avoid Saturdays in July. Hotel meals are very expensive but there are godd resturants close by.

“Impressive hotel with great service”

Staff and hotel were fabulous. Bucharest is fairly grim, so it' s essential to have a hotel as good as this.

“why book if you dont have what you offer”

booked a suite and i got what they called a suite on the first level overlooking the junks in the back yard. asked them to change the room and they downgraded me to an executive room overlooking the athene square. they kept me there for two days before changing me back to a suite on the same level. I asked me for a rebate and they declined. I asked them to credit my room service checkout bill and they refused. I asked them to give me 2 sessions of massage at the health club and they refused. I told them I am going to write that in a review report and they did not care. And by the way, their internet for the suite is not free s they claim on Expedia. I had to pay around hefty price for the 4 days I was there.

“I will definitely stay there again”

The room (junior suit) is nice and clean. The breakfast has lots of choices. Good downtown location.

Be aware of the taxis in front of the hotel who'll try to charge you at least double than the average price.
