“Very Convenient European Commission location”

This is very much a functional business hotel.The location was excellent for the week's work I had to do. It is close to the Gare du Nord so easy to get to by Eurostar - train from Midi to the Gare du Nord and 3 minutes walk. The Hotel is very convenient forthe Euroepan Coimmission's Covent Garden Building. The Grand Place and the main restaurant area are only a 10 minute walk away. The breakfast in the hotel was adequate witha basic range fo hot and cold food. The room was pretty standard. A good modern TV with a BBC channels worked well. A bit of wear and tear was apparent inthe bathroom. Overall I got a good room rate from Expedia and I was very happy with the stay.

Area recommendations

Around the St Catherines Cathedral, there are good fish resataurants and a lively atmosphere. The Christams Market is also here.

we would go back. the only problem we had was we asked for more pillows 3 times before they arrived. we found the staff pleasant & helpful

“Don't hold your breath!”

Poor service at check in and this continued all the way to check out. The receptionist Alef is particular poor in client relationship and interaction. I hope he receives much needed training. Rooms are cramped and markings are all over the wall in the bedroom and the corridor. Beds also need changing unless you enjoy beds with no springs. I would say that the location is great for central and this is probably the only thing going for this hotel. Certainly if you can find another hotel near this one, I would go for it as you have nothing to lose.

“Thon Hotel Brussels City Centre”

Conveniently located, relatively close the city centre and metro station right outside the hotel entrance. Seems newly refurbished, so the rooms are quite comfortable and clean. Did not try the breakfast or any other facilities, but would overall recommend for a short stay in the city.

“Poor Quality”

Room furnished ok and fairly clean but heating on maximum and window screwed shut. Poor quality bedding, not the best for a night's sleep! Aouto check in check out tried to charge twice for room even though paid via Expedia.

“Convenient for EU Commission”

Good hotel with everything you need. It is clean and I found the staff friendly. There was a good variety of food presented for breakfast.

Area recommendations

The Old Town in Brussels had a great deal of character and good restruants.

“Far better than I expected”

The hotel was way above my expectations. The front desk staff was responsive and helpful. The hotel is clean and well maintained. The room was excellent. All in all a great experience.

Area recommendations

The area is fine. It is a business district with lots of shopping and restaurants. There are a few questionable streets and alleys (strip clubs and such) in the immediate vicinity. These streets also featured a number of young men who appeared to have little else to do than hang around.
