“Very pleasant Apartments”

We stayed at the Residence Florence 12th to 15th September 08. As we had travelled up by train from Amsterdam we took a taxi from Gare Central to the Hotel bristol Stephanie where we had to check. We were greeted with a warm welcome, our bags were loaded onto a trolley and a concergie then walked us the 5 mins round the corner to the apartments. We were given the keys to Apt B41 but when we entered the beds hadn't been made so I went back to reception to ask for the room to be cleaned. The duty manager came down and gave the keys for Apt C53 and informed us for the inconvenience we had been upgraded to a 3 bed Apt which worked out really well for us. The apartment consisted of: Lobby, Lounge are with comfortable seating and TV/DVD/Cable, a Dinning area with seating for 6 and a desk with a chair. Kitchen fully equiped with Oven/Hob, Microwave, Dishwasher, Fridge/Freezer, Toaster, Kettle and ample crokkery and pots/pans. The was more than enough cupboard space throughout the whole apartment. 3 spacious bedrooms, 2 seperate toilets, a shower room and a bathroom. Less than 10 mins walk up Avenue Louise to Place Stefanie is a GB Express Supermarket (next to a Godiva Choc shop) and a fabulous Patisserie (Paul). The Louise Metro is about a 15 min walk. There a bars and restaurants within a 10 min walk. We enjoyed our stay at the Residence Florence and would quite happily stay there again.

Its a great residence with a good price. Everything was in tiptop condition. Well furnished with basic necessities and quite good location with easy access to restaurants and carrefour!

“Great accommodation let down by poor housekeeping / upkeep”

I booked a one bedroom apartment and was given an upgrade to two bedroom. When I arrived I found I had what was a house! It must have been lovely when first refurbished. Given that this was only in 2007, it's a shame they haven't bothered to keep on top of things. The fridge and microwave were dirty, not cleaned from last occupant(s). The bin in the kitchen was broken and dirty and there was one solitary wine glass, three mismatched mugs, and four teaspoons for a two-bed place. The shower curtain was vile, having a mouldy hem and being generally filthy. What a shame because it was a great place. I'd go again but take a disinfectant spray and cloths. Also, other hotel apartments leave at least a couple of dishwasher tablets, some washing up liquid, and a bit of soap - not a thing! NB. Not told at all that you have to pick up keys and check in at hotel up the road (Expedia should let people know this, first time I've used them so no glory there) - not very far, c100 yards, but awkward in the dark with heavy cases. I was dropped off by taxi in the evening and eventually spotted tiny sign which didn't even say if hotel was to left o right - it's left up Avenue Louise, Hotel Bristol Stephanie so be dropped off there first.
