“Overall good deal”
Hotel is in a seemingly decent location. Short walk to metro stop. Room was small, bathroom had milldew. Breakfast was good. Overall, a good deal if you just need a place to sleep while visiting.
“Nice hotel”
Nice hotel, located in a residential area,10mins walk to Louise Ave. The hotel is a tad old but clean and nice, the rooms and baths were huge and very comfortable. The staff was a little bit cold and not that helpful. Nice breakfast included!
“Fawlty Towers”
Hotel reception staff were nonchalant upon arrival, and initially could find no record of our (pre-paid) booking. I felt very unwelcome from the moment I arrived. There was no warmth to the welcome and the staff seemed very much in need of customer service training. When I arrived I noticed in the room-brochure, that travel adaptors were available upon request; however when I went to reception to ask for one, the staff were, once again completely disinterested and frankly rude, literally shrugging there shoulders and pouting when I politely asked. The room was small, and had bad staining on the wall which appeared to be from a leaking air-conditiong unit. The heater was on full blast and felt stuffy. The mattress was very soft and I woke up with back pain which almost never happens to me (I'm in my 20's). The bathroom was clean, but smelt very damp and mouldy. Condiments were basic to say the least; school tracing paper, shall we say. Breakfast was of good quality and well stocked, with the exception of the cooked breakfast (eggs, bacon etc) which had run out by 9am, an hour before breakfast time was finishing. The area is fairly convenient, though it is a fair walk to Louise Metro station. I was not expecting a palace from the rates I had paid, though I have stayed in many 3* hotels before, which have all provided better quality of service and accommodation,
“Good value”
The staff was very accomodating.... The bathroom was missing a mirror that did cause a slight inconvenience.
“Not the best, not the worst.”
I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights along with a friend. Also, two other friends were in another room. Our room, #56, was alright. It was quite large and the two twin beds were comfortable. There was a lot of mold on the exterior wall, that was unpleasant. Our friends were in #54 and their room was quite dreadful. The first thought upon walking in was "dorm room". It had one window with a ladder to access it. There was one outlet that was near the door so it wasn't useable from the bathroom. The water faucet stayed on the entire time. The front desk staff wasn't helpful at all. We went to happy hour one night and each had a drink, "buy one get one free". We were charged for all the drinks. The hotel has a lot of stairs, difficult to get luggage up them.
“Never ever stay here.”
I have no idea how this hotel has any good reviews. First it has no elevator, so plan on hoofing your bag up a lot of stairs. The rooms are not very clean and the hotel is in dire need of work. The surrounding area is not very nice and the restaurants that are close by are not very good. The staff at the hotel is not very friendly or helpful. I purchased a space for my rental car while I was there and everythime I went to park there a hotel staffers car was in the way. I had to go track someone down to move their car so I could park in the sapce I was paying 15 euro a day for. Stay anywhere in Brussels but here.
“Good value.”
The hotel was well located for us and provided a good breakfast and helpful service. It was clean and comfortable.
“Fair/Average”
Cons: old hotel, musty, no AC in Exec Double; classic rooms have AC. (In pm, room was sunny-hot in Sept.) Pros: staff-Maelle & our nice maid-breakfast & location. Cost not justified in our opinion. Public areas are pretty; breakfast room cheery, but cost should be lower for this level. Our room-3rd floor-was large, but showed age. Bathroom spacious, but also old; needed help. One of the tall windows would not close, and with the damp, moisture collected; so had nicotine (dirt?). There was a safe, in-room minibar/fridge (great) and high ceilings but curtains were oppressive and a bit soiled. Flatscreen TV. But room was fatigued, with beds like spongy foam; & floor had rundown carpet. Room faced Rue Veydt, with am/pm racket (US students opposite+construction = earplugs); interior rooms quieter. Staff allowed us to store luggage until check-in (check-in was tedious), & they called a cab for us; internet, while pricey, was fine at public space. Despite issues, hotel (our least fave part of trip) didn't dampen love for Belgium or Brussels. Maybe for a night OK, but best to get a diff place for longer stays, tho anywhere near Avenue Louise is a great base.
“a charming hotel”
My recent stay at the Louise Hotel was just lovely. The hotel is situated on a quiet residential street just off the Avenue Louise. The location was just a short tram ride from many of Brussels' major attractions. As a solo female traveler I felt safe in the area around the hotel, and very safe staying in the Hotel Louise itself. I believe the hotel was recently renovated. The room was comfortable and had all the basic amenities. Off of the hotel lobby there is a cozy lounge with a small bar, and a room with a computer that guests may use. For me, the best part of the Louise Hotel is the delightful breakfast. The contiental breakfast included a buffet of pastries and breads, meats and cheeses, with a couple hot items (bacon and eggs) and a selection of cereals, yogurt and fruit salad. I was very impressed by the variety, having stayed at other European hotels where "breakfast" is a basket of stale rolls. I would definitely recommend the Louise Hotel to other travelers. If you are looking for a luxury hotel, you will be disappointed. However, if you'd like a charming and comfortable hotel for a good value, the Louise Hotel is the place to stay. If I return to Brussels, I would absolutely stay there again.
“A Pleasant Stay”
I had read other reviews of this hotel and did not have high expectations. The layout is a little quirky and that gives this place some character. It may be that I had a good room, which was at the back of the hotel overlooking the garden. The room was clean and modern, not particularly spacious but that is not something by which I judge a hotel. The bathroom was perhaps in need of some extra lighting but again it was clean a modern in style. There were no faults and the shower was excellent. The staff at reception were pleasant and efficient. Breakfast was standard Brussels fair, nothing particularly special. I would definitely return.
