“Close to the best”

Le Chatelain is an all suite hotel and the suites are enormous, beautiflly fitted out and comfortable. Located just off the Avenue Louise [great for shopping] and a short walk to Place Louise and the centre, It's ideally located for business, touriste and visitor. If there was one criticism - the breakfast is expensive. But there are options locally. We were visiting family nearby and they recommended it. Well worth it. NOTE - rates are lower at weekends, as the European parliamentary workers return to their own countries and the city vacanacy rate is high.

“Very NICE! CLEAN! SAFE!”

Everything we wanted. Clean, safe, modern, well kept. Breakfast for 15 Euro on the weekend is the best deal in town. Brussels is expensive. Desk service and maid service were topnotch. I highly recommend this place. It is not close to the Grand Place and "main are" but it is not far either. We walked to and from twice. It was a nice walk-likely under 2 miles. The Tram works well but does not run often late at night.

Area recommendations
Take the train to Brugge. That's the place to visit. The multi day pass is the way to go for local transportation. If you fly into Charlerio take the bus - - yo can't miss the blue lines at teh airport. 22 euro Round trip per person and reserved spot. It picks you up where it drops you off. Belgium is known for its waffles. Most of the other food is nothing to rave about. Pizza hut provide a sanitary and tasty meal. Stay away from restaurant row in Brussels where everything is the same price and they try to talk you into their place by offer of a free drink - the food absolutely is horrible and the drinks are tiny.

“Big Daddy's Brussels”

Great hotel, super location. The nearby Wednesday evening block party is a real bonus.

“Not what it's cracked up to be.”

Good location, excellent service, but not really a suites hotel - rooms are godd sized doubles. Expensive for what it offers, especially breakfast, which was sparse in range and quantity of what was offered (stale coffee, very tired looking fruit salad and range of cold meats).

Area recommendations
The Sablon and Grand Place areas.
Traveller's tip
There are lots of restaurants, but some are expensive for what is offered. ignore the hustlers on the street who try to encourage you in, rather look for places which are busy, as they are better value.

“für den kurzen Stadtbesuch optimal”

Es handelt sich um ein Hotel mit 1A Service, netten Personal und in top Zustand (Zimmer und Umfeld). Zu beachten wäre, dass es in der Nähe kaum Parkmöglichkeiten gibt, man aber die Tiefgarage gegen Gebühr benutzen kann. Der Empfang hilft beim Ausladen und bringt das Fahrzeug weg. Die Umgebung bildet ein Stadtviertel um 1900 mit vielen Restaurants und kleinen Geschäften. Zum Zentrum sind es ca. 20 min zu Fuß.

“L'arnaque”

Les dosettes de café mises à nore disposition ( comme dans n'importe quel hôel 2 ** ) nous ont été facturées 3,60 € / pièce 43 € 20 pour douze dosettes en quatre jours !!! Inacceptable....à fuir absolument d'autant plus qu'il existe des hôtels de standing équivalent, au même tarif....beaucoup plus proches du centre ville

“Super. D'un coup de tramway on est dans le vieux centre. Top.”

Le bout commercant de l'avenue Louise et ses petits resto. Le restaurant SuchiShop pratiquement en face de l'hotel sur l'avenue Louise (le suchi au foie gras et celui au jus de truffe).

“Hotel recomendable y tranquilo”

Hotel tranquilo muy bien insonorizado,con aire acondicionado, muy limpio con habitaciones grandes.La primera noche el sofa cama con la colchoneta que dispone fue muy incomoda pero les pedimos una colchoneta más y ese mismo día pusieron un colchón y aunque es un sofa de unos 8o cm es suficiente para dormir.La zona muy tranquila y bastante centrico aunque hasta la Av. Louise andando tenias unos 15 mtos. No olvideis llevar el justificante de pago del Hotel donde viene reflejado que habeis abonado todas las taxas e impuestos, por que a mi me intentaron cobrar el impuesto municipal pero al presentarles el justificante lo consultaron y me contestaron que estaba ya pagado.

Traveller's tip
Si sois hasta 5 personas os recomiendo que compreis el ticket de grupo para poder utilizar todos los medios de transporte( Metro, Bus y Tram-tranvia) con numero ilimitado de viajes pero, por supuesto todos juntos. Vale 10 euros y cada viaje os costaria 1.60 euros.Desde La Gare du Midi el Tram que os deja más proximo al Hotel es el 81 y el 83 a partir de las 20 horas. Buena estancia!
