“Good hotel. Great for Avenue Louise”
Good small hotel with helpful staff just off Avenue Louise and close to Place Stephanie.
“good value for money”
This hotel, although labelled 4 star, definitely does not merit such aplomb nowadays. The rooms are slightly outdated, although nonetheless pretty, and it's not the most central of hotels to Brussels' centre. However, the area is very safe and quite upmarket (Rue Louise) and the staff were friendly and even let me have a little bit later checkout. There is free wifi in the Hotel lounge, but not in the rooms, and given that I paid relatively little to stay here I was very satisfied with what I got for my money. Breakfast is not included and is very pricey (22 euro!) so it's much more worthwhile taking a stroll down Rue Louise for a more traditional french breakfast
“Comfortable hotel”
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in September 2010. We found this a quiet and comfortable hotel. Room clean and nicely furnished. Fairly convenient for public transport - about 10 minutes walk to metro. Breakfast was expensive - we ate at close by cafes. We would stay here again.
“Chocolate and Wine Trip”
The desk clerk was kind enough to check us in early. She spoke english and had a rather reserved personality that could be miscontrued as unfriendly. They did not push the hotel breakfast which is generally over priced in Europe for what you get. Better to walk up the street and get espresso and pastries. We had a room towards the back of the building so it was quiet. I don't think that this hotel should be rated 4 stars. They had nice bathroom amenities and a phone in the bathroom but those were the only possible four star hotel items I could see at this establishment. Free internet computer in the lobby to check my email was a really nice touch.
“Not at all a 4 star hotel”
Service is poor / should not be a 4 star hotel
“great value in excellent location”
We stayed two separate nights. Staff really helpful and exceptionally welcoming. We arrived early on the Thursday, but the staff took care of the cases and arranged for our room to be available at 1.00pm. Our second night was on the Sunday and they had uprated our room, (it was excellent). The thursday night room was perfectly adequate and extremely comfortable, so getting an upgrade was a real bonus. The Hotel being situated on Avenue Louisa is really convenient just a short walk to the Metro (Louiza routes 2 & 6). The local shopping is excellent as are the fine variety of quality and great budget restaurants. Well worth a repeat visit.
“Very good choice, albeit away from the main tourist areas”
This is a very good, affordable hotel for those who are happy to be slightly away from the crowds. Having said that, just about everything in Brussels is walkable and there's a tram stop at the end of the street. It's also quiet and spotlessly clean - so just about perfect . Recommended.
“Not A Bad Stay”
This hotel is about a mile from the center of the city, half a block off the a major street, so walking and transportation are convenient. This hotel was much better at its prime, but it's not well maintained now. The room was small but cozy. No AC, we had to open the windows. The room was generally clean, although some stuff are old. Breakfast was 22 euros per person, so we bought stuff to eat from the cafe or supermarket just down the street. The staff were generally friendly. Overall I'd give it a 3 out of 5.
“Perfectly Functional”
Slightly older hotel just outside city centre in the shopping district. Could be classified as a good 3* or lower 4*. Service was very good, Good price for a Brussels hotel.
“Good place to stay for a weekend break”
10 minutes walk from Louise metro stop, the Izan is located on a quiet side street (thankfully!). Handy location for Eurostar arrivals as it's just a couple of stops on the metro from Gare Midi. The hotel had a slightly strange layout but the room was very comfortable with a good bathroom and was clean and well decorated in a traditional style. The only problem was that it was very warm inside the room even though it was only about 15 degrees centigrade outside; we had to fling the windows open whenever we got back and had to keep them open in the night as well. Good location for sight seeing. Breakfast looked pretty poor for 23 Euros (although you can get room service for 12 if that makes it any better!). Staff were pleasant and helpful.
