I am disappointed with my choice. I booked it due to the glorious reviews. Never again!
The hotel is close to Metro station, but 15 min to Grand Place and the Central Station. There are many other hotels much closer and more conveniently located to Grand Place and Central station where the majority of attractions are, and the tours to other cities depart from. The hotel itself is in a serious need of renovation and updating. Walls are cracked (I had serious concerns about structural integrity) and in a dire need of a fresh coat of painting. The furniture is old and tired-looking. The only good thing is the spacious bathroom.
The whole street in front of the hotel is currently under construction with heavy machinery, dust and noise ongoing.
The staff is rather indifferent. Actually, we've NEVER experienced such lack of hospitality! When I told them we have chosen their hotel to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary AND my husband's birthday (we arrived on my husband's birthday, they knew about it in advance, they saw his passport, and apparently it was too much of a bother to at least say "Happy Birthday"). They did, however, emailed us a list of upgrades we can purchase - a cheesy fake rose petals, a champagne (we came from Paris, we bought there a brand we liked), a box of chocolates (my husband is a diabetic), etc. EVERY TIME we travel to celebrate an occasion the hotels we stay at not only acknowledge but always have a nice surprise or upgrade. This hotel didn't care.
