“Good price, interesting architecture”
Small hotel located in a sleepy neighborhood near the Belgian Parliament. Fashioned from several older town houses, the blend of modern renovation and antique interior spaces makes for an interesting environment. Many rooms look out on a garden courtyard, making for an extremely quiet stay. Room was small with somewhat spartan furnishings, but functional. Bed was a bit squishy. Excellent wireless. Friendly staff; quite decent breakfast buffet. Local shops cater to the business lunch crowd, but a pleasant square around the corner has three brasseries frequented by locals. Very convenient three minutes to the Metro, making it 10-15 minutes to the city center or the EU zone. Michelin-rated for 2011.
“Too darned hot!”
Although the hotel is in a good location for the city & the Grand Place - the main problem that we found was the lack of air con in the room. This might not be an issue for most of the time - but at 28 degrees, air con would be a definate bonus. The hotel was very pleasant and the room was plainly decorated with no drawer space to speak of. A good base for Brussels with some good bars and cafes to choose from, away from the hullabaloo of the immediate area surrounding the Grand Place. In all, for the money, it's adequate and does the job if all you want is a base from which to explore the city - but don't expect the little luxuries that you'd normally get in a 3 star hotel.
“Recommended”
The single room was good and the free wi-fi particularly useful. Staff were pleasant and friendly. The room rate was particularly good.
“OK Value”
Basic but OK value for money. Single bed rather narrow, room fine, breakfast passable.
“Classy hotel for a great place”
Hotel Du Congress was a lovely place, high ceilings, clean modern bathroom, big windows yo ucould open for some fresh air. The breakfast was so good! lots of cheeses, breads, yogurt. They even opened the free breakfast up early for us when we were leaving to catch our train. Very relaxing and wonderful hotel. The Hotel staff was very helpful and plenty of places to eat around the area.
“Worth checking this out”
We stayed in as 4 people per room as we likely to stick together for New Year. Only two hotels offer that per room. Location is only average 1.5 mile from Central station. So walking is good. There are Metro within 2 mins walking from hotel. Breakfast is good but only offer all cold meals like cornflakes, french breads, danish pastry. Getting taxi is expensive around so recommend to go by metro or Bus. It cost us 16€ to get to our hotel from Midi Station at night but coming back is only 9€ in morning.
“Convenient location”
This hotel was conveniently located for the three of us as we arrived in Brussels from London. Travelling with two teenage girls, I found the triple room at this hotel small, basic and not as well equipped as other rooms I found on Expedia. Television was very small, no tea and coffee facilities, no carpet on the floors and no internet - all very important to teenagers (& making further bookings on Expedia!). If it's location you want when arriving late with backpacks, this is a reasonable hotel.
“Good place for the price”
The hotel is good for the price you pay. It is fairly centrally located. It is within a 15-20 minute walk of all the sights. The metro stops about three blocks away (3 minute walk). The hotel was nothing special, but it was clean and the staff was friendly.
“Senza dubbio ci tornerei”
