Average to bad, in a terrible city for hotels
Brussels is the worst city in Europe for hotels — there is an astonishing number number of vastly overpriced dumps that should frankly be shut down by the government. So the bar is pretty low. Against this dire situation, this place is just about decent provided the price is fair — anything over €45 would be too much. Watch for reception which decided to round up the €4.24 city tax to €4.50 and hope that I won’t notice. I gave him exactly €4.25 and told him to keep the extra cent. He gave me a puzzled look. Really!

Location was reasonable and walkable to all city centre attractions and Brussels Midi (although the area you walk through looked run down and not safe). Shower didnt work correctly. Great range of entertainment within the hotel and loads of cafe/bars locally. Staff were friendly and helpful. Had a hostel feel to it.

reasonable area, not too far from station/centre, but would ONLY accept cash at reception, no credit/debit cards, bit odd, as well as being inconvenient

A beautiful city almost ruined by a terrible hotel
Lets start with the fact this hotel is on a major road, there is no AC so you have to open your window which means every loud sound possible, sleep was nearly impossible. Throughout the night the sounds of cars, loud conversation, cafes, parties, yelling, laughing and it never stopped! The beds felt like torture devices, assuming you could ignore the stains on nearly every surface. This is a cash only place so be prepared to have all of the cash for your stay.

a hostel feel like hotel
a terrible experience started with - no room card, but a key only and need to hand in to the receptionist when going out. - no door lock for the sleeping room and we could only place a chair at the back of the door, in case anyone suddenly came in that we could be alerted. - window without a curtain inside the toilet, ladies felt insecure when bathing. - the auto light at the corridor (outside the lift) last few seconds only and sometimes we were waiting for the lift in the dark. - stayed on top floor of the hotel, men didn't stand straight because of the floor ceiling is too low or the roof top was tilted.

They were fairly disorganized. Room wasn't ready when we arrived. Our key got lost. They made a big deal that we didn't request breakfast, but never mentioned we needed to request it. Good location though.

NO
SO disappointing. We were looking for a budget hotel, but I would rather pay a few extra euros and stay at a decent hotel than stay here again. The heat did not work for the first few hours, two windows in our room did not shut-- and it was raining, so we had a puddle in the bathroom! The door handle to the bathroom would fall off almost every time you would open and close it. The room locked, but you had to use the key on the INSIDE of the door to even get out! The room was super small, which is fine, but about half of the room has a slanted ceiling, so we could not stand up in that part. There was a used soap bar left in the shower and a layer of dust on the light. Overall, very dirty feeling, and very frustrating.

Well-situated between the centre and Brussels Midi
About 15 minutes walk from Brussels Midi Station and 8 minutes walk from the Grand-Place, the hotel is well situated for those who do not want to use public transport. It is small and rather old-fashioned but friendly enough. A useful place for a quick overnight stay.

Great location
The hotel was a short walk from all the attractions in Brussels and also just a 10 minutes walk from Gare Midi. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and tidy, though the bed base was rather old and stained. Bathroom was clean, though the bath seal had black marks on it (possibly mould). The rest of the bathroom was clean. I'll stay here again as it's good value and good location.

Well, you get what you pay for, but if you are not too fussy, you can stay here. We stayed here 4 days. The biggest knock is that the rooms face the street and the gigantic window/doors don't shut properly. There is a bar restaurant across the street and one night there was a late night party. It was pretty noisy. One advantage is that there is a Laundromat real close. You can see it from the hotel entrance. Hotel is within walking distance of town center and public transportation.

Great location at a very reasonable price. In exchange, you get an older hotel and not the nicest room. But overall, the room was comfortable and the Aristote was a very good hotel. I would definitely stay there again.

Great location for Bruxelles-Midi - if you've been there before you know the area is not that good. Nice staff but awfully uncomfortable bed, not enough bedding. Mouldy bathroom.

Mouldy
Very unclean and unhygienic; lots of mould everywhere especially in the bathroom, nearby the bed and on bin lid. Mattress and pillow thin as cardboard. Walls paper thin and very noisy all around. Unsafe and dodgey neighbourhood. Water leaks onto floorboards and the wood was all rotten and broken. A few good things about this place: great location, 24 hour reception and room is 'cleaned' daily (beds made and new towels).

Overall a good stay
Overall I have nothing bad to say about this place. Yes it is not a five star hotel but it was clean and I had a very good stay at Aristote. The location was definately the best thing about this hotel, only being a short walk away from the centrum. The price-quality ratio is very good, you get value for your money. But as mentioned, do not expect a five star resort, but a very basic hotel.

Good for what you pay
My stay was overall good. I have nothing bad to say about the hotel, the location is great for Midi Station and city centre and the staff is very nice. However, if you can spend €20 per night, I recommend you go somewhere else as the bathroom could do with an upgrade, the loo seat was broken, sink was blocked and very weak shower. The room was clean though. I only wanted the hotel to sleep so for me was perfect, I preferred to spend my money on great chocolate instead of a better hotel. It's great for a couple of nights if you are going to be out all the time but no if you plan to spend time in the hotel.

Good location. Poor hotel.
Pros: - Location. - Cool city view from the balcony (for selected rooms). Cons: - Old hotel. Not renovated in a long time. - Poorly cleaned - as you would expect hotels to be. - Poor standard of services and amenities. - Very slow internet. Practically impossible to check e-mail. Cannot access the internet even from the most advanced Android phone. So-so: - Staff - didn't interact much (other than at check in), so wouldn't be able to tell. My tip: if you are looking for a place, just where you can sleep - this may be an adequate choice. It is an OK value for money. Other than that, I would not recommend it.

Please fix your crumby hotel...
So I booked this in a hurry and thought it looked good... The first thing was that the room was incredibly hot for no reason, the radiators were not on! I could not cool things down without noise/smells from the street as there was only a door onto a balcony that I could open. The second thing was that the wireless internet access was incredibly slow, clearly their broadband connection was not up to the number of guests using the internet. Thirdly, it was quite dirty, especially the bathroom. The shower head was broken so that as I turned up the pressure, the water came out sideways... I did not get any sleep that night, mostly because of the heat.

Definitely a budget hotel..barely makes the acceptable grade..hotel staff were friendly; location fairly close to main attractions (would be the main redeeming feature); the neighborhood though not rundown, appeared to be borderline..however some decent restaurants close by..

Brussels on a budget.
Hotels in Brussels centre are uniformly expensive for their standards as the demand is high. On that basis the hotel offered value. The room was basic, clean and would have been quiet, other than for the lavatory cistern ran all the time. I reported this but it did not get fixed during my 3 day stay. Good free wifi was a plus. Staff not exactly charming, but efficient. Would I go back? Not in a rush.

The location is not too nice, in the middle of Marrocan/Turkish/Algerian neighborhood. The hotel is very old and far from nice. It is quite clean. But one of the lamp is not installed, the bathtub needs to be repaired.

Terrible, will never recommend to anyone. You are better off spending a few extra dollars and getting a decent room. Luckily we only spent one night here. What a dump, we didn't even want to get under the bed covers, so we slept on top of the sheets.

Hard beds- weird rooms
Arrived at hotel at 1pm front desk lady said we couldn't check in until 2pm. Thought that his was pour service as the hotel seemed empty. Room is terrible. Super small. Beds hard as rocks. Fake wood panel modelling screwed on over top of tiles. Super small shower and the rod was curved in so the curtain kept touching your arms when in the shower. Smelled weird. Only warm water from tap. Small glass shelve right above tap so you couldn't turn the faucet on all the way. No towels in our room and had to ask for some. Very Arabic community and many people yelling in the streets. Lights in the hallways were in timers. You had to walk into a dark hallway to turn on the light to walk down the stairs. Very creepy. Pay an extra $10 and stay somewhere else.
