“2nd TRIP JUST AS GOOD”
Hotel Bedford is conveniently placed just a short walk from everywhere. There were 6 of us staying there and we had no complaints. There was building work going on in the hotel and our rooms were across the carpark, at first we wondered where we were going and felt as if we were the 'poor' relations however the rooms turned out to be suites and we ended up with a kitchen, sitting room, etc- definately an upgrade! We would definately stay there again
“Time warp”
This hotel was pleasant enough but very dated. Can't remember when I last saw the oldie worldie tv. Noise from the plumbing was terrible. Nice breakfast though. Won't be back I feel. It's cheap for a reason
“Convenient location”
This hotel was very convenient for transport to and from the airport. We had gone with the intention of going to see a live concert at the Forest National stadium and had no trouble in reaching and finding our destination. It was a short walk to the main tourist area of the city and was on the level all the way there. If I should ever go back to Brussels I would stay at this hotel again because I thought it was good value for money and the quality of the buffet breakfasts was extremely good.
“Not impressed”
My main complaint would be about the bedroom. It was cramped and needed updating. The TV was not up to current standards (not flat screen). However, there was good wireless internet connection. The elevator system was quirky. Otherwise the facilities were ok.
“"Not Impressed"”
Not overall satisfaction with the hotel because I've booked 2 months before and the office man give me the last room on the 2nd floor, where you could hear a lot of noise from outside and when we changed the room he gave us almost one the same as the 1st one with the view in a court, you could not see anything. Is not ok to behave like that and when he told me " A, your booking is already paid" he create me the impression that he expected something, is not ok for me that as a behavior. Also ask for my credit card in case of extra payments that are not included, which is not ok if I will check out upon my ID in my last day of staying. The breakfast was ok, but no vegetables and to many people from 8 to 9 a.m. in the restaurant. The internet was free down the lobby, but hard to manage due to French letters on keyboard. It was close to Grand Place, 5 minutes to walk, also to the Manneken Pis and the streets with chocolate shops.
“great location , but now needs a revamp”
I have stayed at the hotel 3 times before with my mum & sister in a triple room we had a good time again, but what I noticed this time was that the hotel needs a revamp. we stayed in a room on the 6th floor, the bathroom, is a little worn, the mirror is peeling and also the shower taps work on either full needle blast or not well, also the bathroom is so hot, [ due i think to lighting ] that it affects the room temp at night .though the beds are comfy .The hallway carpets on the 6th floor are quite stained.and the corridors are gloomy .The breakfast is really good self service, with a great selection, but again in a gloomy room.We had a good stay , but what slightly annoyed me this time when we left, the hotel porter halied us a taxi who was one of his mates, who basically ripped us off to get to the midi station . We usually we get the metro , but this guy charged us 10 euro, [ its a really short journey ] and didn't use his meter which i should have noticed .Overall it's a good place and the location is great..but it needs a shape up.
“Dirty, old, shabby.”
Hotel was located close to main attractions. It did not feel very safe at night however. Great breakfast. Room was old and dirty.
“Bedford Hotel, Brussels”
Excellent breakfast with large selection of food, staff welcoming and capable, screens have been fitted over windows so as to allow them to be left open when occupants are out although air conditioning in the bedrooms (as has been provided in the public areas) would be an improvement. Overall the room was value for money.
“Worse beds ever”
This hotel has a big 80's vibe going on. Silk flowers, weird watercolors, lots of fake gold fittings. It seems like the staff is desperate for management or ownership to do something to upgrade it. I called and asked to be moved to a room with better beds - when I sat on one I nearly hit the floor it was so saggy - and they said there was no point as all the beds were like that. Told them when I checked out that we would not be able to stay again until the beds were improved. They respond as it they hear that a lot. If I had not prepaid with Expedia we would have moved. No room service. Bizarre bar with hit and miss service - weirdest thing is a white grand piano with a statue of a smiling black man playing it. Just out of place and odd. We asked about food in the bar and were told there were two choices- microwave chicken sandwich or microwave hamburger. Some very nice empoloyees - some not so nice. 5-8 min walk to Grand Place - only selling point.
“A Great Hotel in a Crummy Neighborhood”
This is a very, very nice hotel. The Staff is very helpful, it's easly reached by foot from The Central Station. It's also 5 minutes from The Great Place. The free breakfast is outstanding. About two blocks to the right there are three small bars. Go to the last one. There's also a bar on the corner; to the left it's O.K., but the others are better.
