“Excellent hotel for tourists or business in central location.”
The location of this hotel is excellent being close to the Metro station and less than a mile from Central station. It is close to excellent restaurants, market, Grand Place etc. Has a nice local area - my room overlooked a big church and square. It is slightly worn but in Brussels you will get nothing top notch that is not very expensive. (Good value at the rate I got; but not necessarily at the rack rate - so make sure you have a good price.) Service was a bit slow on check out as I suspect this hotel does not have a lot of staff but otherwise the service was excellent. The beds were o.k. The pillows were small but I think this is local custom. Room cold at first but turned on radiator and warmed up very quickly. Only slight problem was dripping tap on bath. Overall very good value for money for Brussels central.
“Great location”
Great location, handy for the center of town and the main square. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.
“Good value for a short break”
The Astrid Center Hotel provided what I needed for a 3 day break, although I found the breakfast rather limited for the price charged. It's very much a 'no frills' hotel, but the room was adequate and clean and it is useful for an easy walk to the main sights of the city centre. Additionally the Astrid is convenient for the Metro, with De Brouckere Station a short distance away. The number 3 tram was direct from Midi Station and took around 10 mins.
“Astrid Hotel, St Catherine, Brussels”
Room was nice and clean; breakfast was pretty good for the price (even the owner seemed to have breakfast there every morning), and wireless worked. Don't expect minibar or big telly (there was a small one but I was not in Brussels to watch tv), but there was a fairly large (for a hotel room) safe in the room. Location was excellent, a short walk from the nearest metro station and very close to the town centre.
“Average hotel on good location, and expensive”
Hotel is on good location and that is its best feature. It is plain, but expensive. Clean.
“Good budget option”
Clean, well located, reasonably comfortable bed - spring for a double if you can, because twin rooms offer slightly skinny singles pushed together. Lovely staff and brilliantly located for the non-touristy as well as the touristy bits of town.
“Great location and reasonable for Brussels”
Stayed twice at the Astrid into and out of Europe. Rooms were clean and up to standard European fare. Execellent place from which to walk central Brussels. Internet is 10E for an entire day. 20 minute walk from north station. Go straight out of south entrance until you reach the Panasonic tower, then turn right two blocks. Had early flights, so didn't try the breakfast. Seemed a bit high at 10E.
“You Pay For What You Get - You pay Cheap - You get Crap”
We stayed at this gargabge hotel for one night because all the other major hotels in the area were sold out because of a convention on that day/night. You will sleep on beds that slump to the ground (I actually slept on the floor that night because the floor gave more support than the bed), a pillow that you get on an airplane, super thin with no support at all, 2 super thin shower towels. We asked for more towels, they do not give you extra towels. We asked for extra pillows, they do not give you extra pillows. You are getting the bare minimum here and I mean the bare minimum. The hotel is old and everything in it is old and has that smell of things being old. We immediately checked out that next morning, early, as soon as we got up. I could not wait to leave this hotel. If possible, avoid it, you will not be happy. The only positive thing I can say about this hotel is that the price is cheap but when you see what you get, you realize it is better to pay more and stay at a decent hotel. If you are married, your wife will hate it even more
“Creepy Hotel”
This hotel is close to the plaza but the hotel is not a 3 star hotel i would say probably 2 at the max. Dingy halls, bathrooms from the 70's it just needs alot of updating. Very noisy - even when windows were closed. Would not recommend hotel. Pay a little extra go somewhere else.
“Bon compromis, bon emplacement”
