“Great location but not cheap”

Hotel was wonderfully close to the main square in Bruges, and the staff were well-informed, friendly and professional. And the room was pleasant and clean, although with a rather overpowering decor - red and gold and tasseled! But we were shocked at the valet parking, which was 35 euros a day. Instead we parked in the garage around the corner, which cost 23 euros for three days. The hotel breakfast was also very expensive at 11 euros per person for a croissant and coffee, or over 20 for the buffet.

“Great”

Just come back from our honeymoon including 4 days in Bruges. Stayed at the Heritage Hotel-got a very friendly welcome, and helpful staff. Room was excellent and comfortable, largest hotel bathroom I've seen! TVs even have BBC 1 and 2 and ITV 1 for those who can't cope without English TV. Conveniently situated for the centre of Bruges but in a nice quiet side street

“Slightly over the top”

This is a very good hotel if you place a high value on lavish decoration. Our room was comfortable, but small and it was hard to know where to put the six large cushions decorating the bed when we we wanted to sleep. On the other hand, service was attentive and this is cerainly a good, if rather expensive, hotel.

“Very nice hotel overall !”

Needless to say, this is an extraordinary hotel ! Awesome location, very nice staff, very clean and a lot of character. However here are a couple of points they should improve (I don't really remove any stars for it ) : the elevator looks and feels rather old and the rooms would need a little refreshing (small cracks in the walls, darker marks on the walls, etc. ... nothing really important, but you expect only the best from such a 4 stars hotel !). Overall, it's been a lovely stay, it's true that one does expect quite a lot from a 4 stars hotel, which made me point out the 2 "issues" that I wouldn't have noticed in a more "average" place, BUT I's much better than other more expensive 4stars hotels in which we've stayed. Also the prices were very good ! Highly recommended ! dan

“GREAT HOTEL IN BRUGGE”

THIS IS A WONDERFUL HOTEL IN AN HISTORIC BUILDING IN THE CENTER OF BRUGGE. THE ROOMS WERE VERY WELL APPOINTED AND THE STAFF WAS FIRST CLASS.

“Bruges Relais & Chateaux Overrated”

This hotel absolutely does not live up to the standards of Relais & Chateaux!!! We are not sure why Relais & Chateaux has chosen this property. The room was extremely small, not special in any way. One of the things we usually enjoy most about staying at Relais & Chateaux is the quality of the meals - not here, the restaurant was closed both nights of our stay. This hotel is way overpriced!

“Great Hotel in Bruges”

The Heritage Hotel, as it is known in Bruges, is in an excellent location - close to tourist sites, shops, restaurants and bus stop within 2 minutes walk. Our room was very comfortable, attractively furnished with a great bathroom. One of the outstanding aspects of the hotel was the staff. They could not have been more helpful. They were knowledgeable and very friendly. Each morning a weather forecast was slipped under our door. I recommend Bruges unreservedly an the Heritage Hotel provides an excellent base.

Area recommendations

The delight of Bruges is that it quite small and you can walk everywhere.

Other

The main tourist areas of the Markt and the Burg are great to see but the cafes and restaurants in these areas are wildly overpriced. Walk a couple of blocks away from these squares and you can find an array of excellent cafes and restaurants that the locals patronise. Our favourite was was a cafe from the Belgian-based chain Le pain quotidien; in Bruges it has a Flemish name "Het Flemish word Brood" which means Daily Bread

“Wonderful break!”

We had a lovely time in Bruges, made all the more relaxing by staying somewhere as nice as Hotel Heritage. Nothing was too much trouble. The only thing that alarmed me slightly was the cost of breakfast (20 euros per person for a cooked breakfast or 10 euros per person for continental) so we ate out, which wasn't a problem.

Area recommendations

The Half Moon Brewery tour was interesting and the cost of entry got you a beer at the end (always a bonus). The Diamond Museum was also fun particularly the polishing demonstration (12.15pm each day).

Dining

Head away from the centre and everything becomes a little cheaper!

“Thank you for great weekend !”

Amazing, hotel with excellent location in center of Bruges, with hotel parking, very friendly staff, nice hotel interiors. Small, but comfortable, nice and clean rooms, great services, free internet, excellent breakfast! Everything was perfect there. Receptionist very friendly and helpful with Bruges city information. We very recommend this great romantic city and charming Heritage Hotel !
