“Peaceful, city centre luxury.”
This hotel delivers 5 star luxury in the city centre. Rooms in the new wing were large and the bed massive! The en-suite facilities were wonderful. We also used the pool on two occasions and each time we were the only people in it and there, again, the facilities on offer were first class. On a slightly negative note, we found the room too warm overnight and difficult to lower to an acceptable temperature via the air-conditioning thermostat - this seems to be problem in hotels which cater for the American market. Some European hotel chains are also now providing tea and coffee making facilities in their rooms and we would certainly have appreciated this especially with the room being so warm. We booked on a room only basis on a '3 nights for the price of 2' deal which offered excellent value. There are plenty of places close by which do breakfast at a fraction of the price of the hotel's breakfast. Our trip to Bruges was certainly enhanced by staying in such a high quality of hotel.
“Lovely hotel in a central location”
The staff are very welcoming and the garden was a lovely bonus in the unexpected warm weather. We also had a room upgrade and the room was very good, apart from the rather low grade towels. The swimming pool was small, but empty everytime we went. The suana and the steam room where not so good and there was never any staff about to ask about anything. My only complaint was the 14 euros for two cups of tea in the room and the 31 euros each for breakfast. Luckily we found a lovely cafe called Bitter Sweet were for the price of two teas in the hotel we could have a full breakfast. If you like Grand with a capital G this is for you, if you prefer something more individual try one of the lovely BBs by the canal.
“Superb, but no tea or coffee?”
A superbly located hotel, stunning to look at. Be prepared for a pricey bar and restaurant. One common factor about Bruge hotels: why no tea or coffee in the rooms? Come on hotel people, most folks are gasping after a long journey.
“BRUGGES IS WONDERFUL AND KEMPINSKI WONDERFUL”
Hotel Kempinski, Brugge -- fab fab. Only comment is sometimes there was a wait at the "concierge-check in desk" to get the information one needed (order taxi etc). It can get backed up. There is no dedicated "CONCIERGE" desk - would be helpful. I would stay here AGAIN and AGAIN -- rooms beautiful, service calm and very very nice. And Brugge! Wow.
“Mika”
The best hotel in Bruges! We just back from a weekend staying here. We loved everything about this hotel, the rooms were large and very clean, large bathrooms, the staff was very friendly. We loved our stay there! We really liked the Spa and visited morning and evening!
“Fantastic hotel in a great location”
We really enjoyed our stay at the Kempinski hotel in Bruges, the staff were all so friendly and couldn't do enough for you. If I had just one minor criticism then that would be to make some improvements to the Reception, and this would be nothing to do with the service that the staff give, but there seemed to be a lot of waiting around and they seemed to be a bit under staffed at times and we were not offered a porter for our suitcases which is something you would expect from a 5 star hotel. On the whole we thought it was a fantastic hotel in a great location and enjoyed our stay very much.
“Best in Bruges...”
Lovely old hotel, with elegant and spacious rooms. - ask for a room in the old part of the building. Gracious service, with good modern european cuisine in both the bar and restaurant. Well chosen wine list at reasonable prices.
“Truly fit for a Royal!”
I highly recommend this hotel. Beautiful, gracious, wonderful location and the only 5 Star hotel in town, I believe. Beautiful grounds where you can sit, relax, and dine outside. Didn't try the food at the restaurant -- so many places to try outside the hotel and so close. Two tiny things - the lobby, oddly, is a bit small for such a large hotel. No one seemed to use it. But they were all outside because the grounds (more than a lawn) are so nice. So maybe that's why. Also, the spa was a bit light on top notch services. But everything else was superb, especially the sweet, smart, accommodating people running the front desk and concierge services. Thank you!
“Nearly Perfect”
The Kempinski in Brugge just about ticks all the boxes. Its very comfortable, the location is perfect, the staff are extremely polite, and very efficient. Only one grumble: Breakfast is offered on an all or nothing basis. You pay circa £30 per person in advance for the full breakfast menu. If you want something less, it is available but only through room service. This is at less cost but not a good deal after the room service surcharge is added. In our view this is unreasonable. The good news is that there are plenty of good breakfast options outside the hotel, (but avoid the main square) and with this in mind the we still recommend this hotel for a relaxing stay in Brugge.
“Fantastic hotel in Brugge”
My wife and I loved our stay at the Kempinski Hotel i Brugge, room was lovely and finished to a really high standard. I dont think I have ever slept in a more comfortable bed! The gardens are beautiful and very secluded despite being in the heart of Brugge.
