“Beautiful location”

The photos on Expedia don't do this hotel justice. Very reasonable price for the quality. Only thing is - the bathroom was TINY! Barely room to shower in there.

“Picturesque, clean & modern lodging in Bruges”

Hotel is right on one of the canals very close to Bruges center (Markt/Burg) with canal-view rooms available and very pretty (mine was canal view). Staff was knowledgeable and helpful; accommodations were modern, clean and well-appointed; breakfast was a full spread with lots of variety for many types of eaters.

“Great location”

Great position in the middle of the city & surprisingly quiet.

Dining
I went with friends to watch a football match. Charlie Rockets nearby has a good atmosphere if you like a laugh & the prices are a lot more realistic compared to the rest of the bars.

“Lovely canal view”

We stayed at Hotel Ter Reien for two nights and were very satisfied. The room had big windows onto the canal where we could feed the ducks in the mornings and wave to the tourists on the boat tours. The hotel staff were very friendly and allowed us to store our bags after we had checked out. The breakfast was good too. The only downfall was a small room and a tiny kit bathroom, however it was very clean and fine for a short stay.

“keep right on.....”

i cannot rate this hotel highly enough, took a nice little trip to see birmingham city play brugges in the europa league, found the hotel easily enough 5 minutes from the main square, friendly helpful staff who understood our birmingham accent.......rooms were a decent size and had a great shower cubicle too, sadly missing in a lot of hotels i have stayed in, beds were comfortable and rooms very clean, nice breakfast in the morning too... overall a great little hotel in a great country....if i ever get back to brugges in the future i know the hotel to stay in....great value too.......

“Bruge”

Great breakfast. Good location. Free but slow WiFi. Helpful staff. Small room in a charming building and neighbourhood.

“Gret Hotel, Good continental Brekkie right on the canal”

This is a great clean little hotel, with good breakfast and friendly (for Belgium) staff. Great little neighbourhood with some nice bars and restaurants overlooking the canals, 7 mins walk to the main part of Bruges. Some rooms look right over the canal below and one room has french doors that open on the the canal. We had a room in the attic, so no stunning views but the room was very reasonable and comfortable, the bathroom is a bit small but does the job ok. There is a nice breakfast room with good choice of food and a nice courtyard you can sit into relax Would definitely stay here again!

“Good value and location”

Easy to find by car and secure parking nearby. Excellent location next to canal and short walk to city center. Convenient for all major sights. Rooms "quirky" in shape due to age of building -- gives them character! Bathroom small but adeqate for short stay -- you dont live in your hotel room! Continental breakfast was well presented and good variety of food. Good hotel for a short break (2/3 nights) Beware Brugges is expensive to eat out.

“Small and Simple, but Worked for Us”

The bathroom was tiny and the room was definitely older, but this hotel go the job done. Located right on a lovely canal, the surrounding area was gorgeous. The receptionist couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating, including ensuring that we had a cab available at 5:15 the morning of our check out so we could catch an early train to our next destination. She also recommended great restaurants, steering us clear of the tourist traps. We would go back!

“Bottom end 3 star hotel”

The hotel is clean, but the rooms are very basic and small. If you are used to staying in 2 star places, this will be OK for you, If you are used to staying in nice 3 star hotels, you will be disappointed. There is no kettle in the room - you have to pay €5 per day to have this. You also, oddly, have to pay an extra few Euros if you want to check out before 0830 (I didn't have to, but it's a strange rule). The breakfast was OK, though the fruit is tinned and there are s a lot of bread products. I'm not sure how this place gets such high reviews - maybe most people who stay here are used to hostels??

Area recommendations
Bruges is really small - it's best to visit it as a day trip from Brussels or Antwerp.
