Wow! Amazing Hotel!

Posted 18-Jul-2014
Pros: Central location but tucked away, historic hotel, well-perserved and very clean, friendly staff
Cons: Absolutely nothing! Thank you for a wonderful experience, I wish we stayed longer!
Location: Boat Tour down the canal, Bicyle tour of Bruges, Tour of Brewery
If you are considering this hotel, do yourself a favor and book it! This hotel is absolutely stunning and the hotel staff is so friendly and helpful. They made wonderful reccommendations for lunch and dinner, and helped with reservations. A cab ride from the train station is about 7 Euro to the hotel. The location is tucked away on the canal but very central to everything. The room we had was gorgeous (overlooking the canal) and the bathroom was clean and very large. If you are not bothered by the swans and ducks quacking every so often and the occasional bells ringing, then go for it. This was one of the best experiences my husband and I have had at a hotel overseas!

Thank you Philipe!

The hotel was lovely. We were disappointed that breakfast wasn't included and at approx 20 euros each thought it expensive. We also missed having the facilities to make tea or coffee as no kettle etc and had to use room service. All was redeemed however. We had prebooked an all day battlefield tour and the tour guide was taken into hospital and cancelled at the last moment. The hotel staff made a big effort to rebook us with someone else and managed to get us a lovely guide at the last minute. Thank you to Phillipe. The consierge who was so helpful and made all the arrangements and phone calls for us and also gave us free coffee. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Romantic weekend away

Absolutely stunning hotel. Highly recommended to those seeking a special break to Bruges. Staff were friendly and welcoming, they couldn't have been more obliging to help or answer questions. Breakfast was beautiful and a pleasant ambiance noted around the hotel. A comfortable sleep with no noise noted from other rooms/guests. We cannot wait to go back!

Such a delight!

An amazing hotel right in the centre of Bruges. Tucked away, next to the canal, this hotel is quaint and a real gem. The public areas are a little tired, there is no tea or coffee in the room and breakfast is €19 each. However, they remembered our anniversary, staff were excellent and the bedroom fabulous. I had an out if this world stay, and I felt well looked after - nothing was too much trouble. Absolute joy.

Stunning Hotel

Posted 03-Mar-2014
Pros: Everything! To point out the best bits... Beautifully furnished, stunning exterior, very helpful and friendly staff, and spotlessly clean.
Cons: The only thing I would improve is the €19 price of the breakfast. It's too expensive and so we did not have it, instead we picked up waffles nearby.
Location: Location was perfect. Sat right in the centre against the canals, it was a second to walk to a Main Street and 5 minutes or less to the Market Square.
This hotel was the most beautiful hotel I've ever stayed in... The outside facade that sits against the canal is on lots of bruges postcards! I had no idea the hotel was such a poignant place to stay. The inside was not a let down either, luxurious vintage furnishings to suit the age of the building, and comfortable generously sized rooms. Not forgetting that the place was spotlessly cleaned. After a long arduous journey to get to Bruges the staff were amazing, they told us about some great places to eat, sites to visit and were always friendly and helpful. Also the location was perfect. Sat right in the centre of the old town! a seconds walk to a Main Street with shops and cafés, and a few minutes walk to the Market Square. I can't find a single fault, I can understand why this hotel has won so many awards, we will definitely be back to stay in the near future and recommend it to anyone who wants to visit Bruges.

Perfect stay in perfect setting

Cannot fault the hotel, staff and accommodation. You would be hard pushed to find more helpful and courteous staff anywhere. The hotel setting is magical right on the canals in the most picturesque part of Bruges. Some of the rooms overlook the canals and it's worth the extra to get enjoy waking up to overlook water. The rooms are tasteful and very comfortable. Not huge rooms but you wouldn't expect big rooms in a canal side medieval building they're big enough though. Highly recommend the hotel to anyone for a special stay.

Beautiful

Pros: The location, the staff, the bath, the bed, the breakfast etc.
Cons: Nothing really. I suppose it could have been cheaper but in this case you get what you pay for.
Location: It is very central and close to all places of interest.
This is a beautiful hotel in a beautiful part of a beautiful city. The staff were marvellous, helpful and charming. Could have stayed in a cheaper hotel, but happy we didn't. Best place Ive ever stayed in.
