Nice location, but a bit disappointing.

Posted 19-Jun-2014
Pros: Location & breakfast…price was pretty good.
Room was very old and seemed somewhat dirty in kitchen area…location was good and breakfast was good…but rooms just old…and hard to get to…and parking was very difficult…garage small and dank and dirty.

Perfect in every way!

The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful for me. The location of the hotel is perfect for any tourist wishing to visit the heart of the city. You can walk from the station but it's a bit long. The hotel was unique, comfortable, and cozy. I'd certainly recommend and return.

Ok hotel, superb location

Posted 13-Mar-2014
Pros: Location.
Cons: The rooms, communal areas, lifts etc are VERY dated and need updating. There was a rather unpleasant fishy smell on the staircase.
Location: Couldn't be better. If your priority is location over hotel comfort then stay here!
Nice enough staff, but the hotel was rather down-at-heel, dated and in need of a decent refurbishment. The rooms are fine, if small, but again in need of updating. The breakfast was very basic, with nothing hot I could see apart from a solitary boiled egg and a pan of baked beans! Great breakfast room though - would be even better with a refurb. However, the best thing about this hotel is the location - 20 yards from the Market Square, yet on an alley so it doesn't get traffic or crowds. The staff in the hotel's partner restaurant next door were fantastic, with a good choice of beer and pretty decent food. 10% off for hotel guests too!

Tis hotel could not be closer to the Belfort! :)

Posted 04-Dec-2013
Pros: Very friendly staff and felt like a family-run hotel.
Location: Belfort, Markt, Basilica of the Holy Blood, shopping streets, restaurants...everything is really close to this hotel!
We had a fantastic time (again) at Bruges, the hotel is not a luxury one of sure but you are paying for the location more than anything. We loved being right at the centre, the staff were lovely and helpful. Once again, do not expect a luxury hotel but if you are happy with the location and basic comfort you will love this.

Pros: Good breakfast - neat, clean and roomy
Cons: Path to breakfast room a little confusing
Location: Near the square - plenty to do
Hotel staff was pleasant and helpful. Hotel easy to get to and from when roaming Bruge. Nice breakfast included.

great location but place is a bit worn off

the location a stone's throw away from the central square is fantastic. the hotel itself though is not quite up to standard anymore. i stayed in the adjacent building where rooms face the courtyard on the ground floor. besides it being noisy from the outside (window isolation is not good) the interior and furnishing is very old, thus making this place rather expensive in terms of what you get for your money.

Rooms can be variable

Posted 27-Aug-2013
Pros: Location
Cons: BATHROOMS!!!! Also, some of the paintwork is starting to look tatty.
Location: Fantastic for cyclists. We cycled a route from Bruges to Knokke Heist using the Canal path. It is fantastic and you rarely encounter roads.
This is our 4th time as the location is good and we quite like the quirky nature if the hotel. However, we booked a standard double room and got twin beds! Also, the bathroom was very poor with the toilet being almost impossible to use do to there being a lack of space. We are NOT big people by any means and found the lack of space around the toilet an issue. Anyone even slightly bigger would probably have not been able to use the toilet at all!!!

Hotel close to the historic centre of Bruges

Posted 26-Aug-2013
Pros: Proximity to main market square and main sites
Cons: More detail on website about rooms and beds
Location: Next door to the Belfort and Market Square
Sought accommodation for family of six close to centre of Bruges, but family apartment turned out to consist of one double room and four single beds in a sitting-room/kitchenette/diner. Buffet breakfast involved a short walk down the cobbled street to the basement restaurant. Nonetheless, a well located hotel close to the centre of Bruges within easy walking distance of all the main sites.

Great Location

We loved the location of this hotel. The room was great for a family of 4 but the bathroom could really use some updating. The breakfast was great and the service was helpful and friendly.
