Beautiful, homely hotel in the very heart of town

Our second time at what is probably our favourite hotel we have ever stayed in. Small, cosy, beautiful & romantic - we always leave wanting longer.

Excellent, friendly, comfortable hotel in the very

Pros: The staff
Cons: No - keep it as it is
Location: Take the bus tour from the Market Square - it shows you all the sights. Take the carriage tour by night - much more fun.
Right for arrival we got a smile, and after a rubbish sat-nav system in the rental car, this was sorely needed. As we were early, they knew immediately that we could not access the room so the took our bags proactively, parked the car, gave us some fruit, and sent us out to explore. After a start like this the holiday had to be great - and it was. Right throughout the visit they could not have been more helpful - We were never told what we couldn't do (which most hotels are great at), only what we could do - with helpful restaurant suggestions, tours to take, and advice on what to do. The room was perfect for a family, with an upstairs bedroom and the downstairs room with a sofa bed. The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable.

Beautiful old hotel w/ charming rooms & staff

Posted 06-Jul-2014 on Hotels.com
We loved everything about our stay from our unique room, which was plenty large enough for 3 people and luggage, to the charming, gracious staff. It has a great location right on the canal and is easy walking distance to most of the sights. We rented bikes about a block from the hotel and easily biked out to the windmills. Terrific bathroom with Hermes bath sundries. Afternoon tea at a table with an open window onto the canal was a delight. (My absolute only complaint actually has nothing to do with the hotel--we were traveling with our 10-yr old daughter and there is an "inappropriate" toy shop with a large display window at the end of the street we had to pass every time we left the hotel so i gave the neighborhood a 4 rather than a 5 only because of that.) Otherwise it was perfection.

Gem of a hotel

We stayed in this blissfully quiet and beautifully- appointed hotel while Bruges was jammed with Easter holiday tourists. It was a refuge from the congestion. The staff was incomparably helpful and pleasant. The hotel itself is small and gracious. It was one of the finest hotel experiences ever.

Great hotel, shame about our room

Posted 28-Mar-2014 on Hotels.com
We love this hotel. We've stayed before. However, this time we travelled with our dog and booked the junior suite for well over £200, expecting to get a room with at least some lounge space. What we were allocated was a basement room which was no bigger than a normal room and it felt like being in a dungeon. Great staff and fabulous public spaces.

Charming hotel in the center of Bruges

We always enjoy staying in this charming hotel. The champagne breakfast is fun and the location is perfect. While our room was lovely, we had previously always had a room overlooking the canal, and in the future I will specifically request this. We highly recommend the Orangerie.
