Quiet in the heart of Brugges

Posted 01-Nov-2014
Pros: it is comfortable, charming with a garden, and convenient to the old City, and buses to the larger city. It is a quiet place, good shower.
Cons: Like so many accommodations, there is not enough shelf space and hooks for the bathroom. You get used to it.
Location: Everything is within walking distance.
Comfortable bed, spacious, lots of plugs for charging devices. Fresh orange juice with an ample breakfast. If you are looking for something special, we were told you have to ask at the desk because staff is typically not going to start the conversation with a guest. It is a comfortable bed and breakfast for couple and families, and travel mates. For older couples note: the stairs are steep, narrow and winding; there is no lift. You are within walking distance of historic Brugge and very close to buses to the train staion or anywhere else in the city. Good restaurants are nearby.

Lovely stay

Posted 09-Sep-2014 on Hotels.com
When we first arrived at Alegria, for some reason I became hesitant about what we booked. We were on the second floor which was a little tiring but nothing compared to the Belfry! When we got to the room all reservations had gone, it's absolutely wonderful. Our bedroom was quite compact (mainly due to the super king size bed) but more than fitted everything it possessed. I liked that the shower room size hadn't been compromised. Perfect location, just up the street from market sq. Staff more than happy to give recommendations when asked. Breakfast was lovely, good selection and they kept well on top of refilling etc. absolutely wonderful stay, really enjoyed and would recommend. Thanks Team Alegria

Sehr schönes, kleines Hotel mitten in der Altstadt

Posted 23-Aug-2014
Sehr nette und zuvorkommende Besitzerin, die immer einen guten Tip für Unternehmungen oder zum Essen gehen für uns hatte. Tolles, liebevoll angerichtetes Frühstück. Niedliche, romantische Zimmer. Kleiner, verwunschener Garten im Innenhof. Perfekte Lage, um die Stadt zu erkunden. Wir würden immer wieder kommen!!

We were very pleased with our choice of the Alegria Hotel. We couldn't fault it. The care and attention to make our stay comfortable and welcoming was excellent. We would definitely stay there again and will be recommending it to all our friends.

One night stay

Posted 02-Aug-2014
Pros: The room was very nice.
Location: Central location for all the tourist sights. Everything within easy walking distance.
Arrived before room was ready, but were able to leave our overnight bags. Room was compact but lovely. Modern bathroom. We left the windows open during the night because it was warm and got mozzied! Situated on a road which has some vehicle noise. Breakfast was fine although we had to 'find' quite a bit ourselves, the lady seemed busy and only told us where not to sit! We also left our bags after checking out, overall staff were very obliging and helpfull.

Fantastic little hotel!

Posted 30-May-2014 on Hotels.com
This hotel was just beautiful! It felt really homely and welcoming and the room was quite large for Europe. The only thing was that there was no lift so getting up to the second floor on a winding staircase was a little tricky although after speaking with the owner (such a lovely host!) they are adding a lift which should be fully functional in time for 2014 summer. Location wise it cannot be beat, off a little cobblestone street right near the main square. There is even a little garden out back to relax. All up, this is a magic little place and I cannot rave about it enough. 2 thumbs up!

Lovely central hotel

Posted 02-May-2014
Pros: Everything. Comfy and central.
Location: Very central - close to everything. About a 20 minute walk from the station.
We had a great stay at The Alegria. Good room with a lovely view. Very comfy bed. Just off the Markt so central location which was great for sightseeing. Excellent breakfast too. Would highly recommend this hotel for a stay in beautiful Bruges.

Very nice small hotel in great location

Posted 02-May-2014 on Hotels.com
This small hotel (B&B) really was beautifully renovated, though some wear and tear is beginning to show. Our room was very pretty and clean with a great view, lovely soft bedlinens, two comfy chairs. The main disappointment was that our bed unfortunately was mushy. Veronique was very nice to us but she is clearly stressed out. She seems to do everything - a lot of the cleaning, all the cooking, and handling all guest requests e.g. calling taxis, giving advice, etc. Breakfast was very good, with breads, fruits, fresh squeezed juice and eggs made to order.

Dear guests, Thank you for the wonderful review We know that our bedding is for some guests a bit soft but than so comfy to other guests. We had to make a choice in between hard and middle and chose middle in the hope that most guests would love the formula.Thank you as well to worry about the health of my daughter ! But please notice the lady has energy enough to even sport after her shift so I assure you the lady has plenty of energy. Guests staying for a longer period will notice the other familymembers are there on other days. and like all hotels follow up of the rooms is a continuity and is ensured when time permits us to do so. For now our main occupation in season is to be of service and make our guests stay one to remember something we thank you to compliment us about it. With kind regards Marcel De Muynck
