Close to everything

Posted 20-Sep-2014
Pros: The staff were friendly and the breakfast was great.
Cons: Bigger beds!
Location: Everything is within walking distance with the Frite Museum literally around the corner.
This is in a great location with all the sights within walking distance. The breakfast was amazing with so much choice and the staff were happy to bring more if you needed it! The downsides were the beds were tiny and the rooms were too hot- but a fan is provided. The bathroom was huge and the bath was great for relaxing in. There is no tea/coffee facilities in the room but they didn't mind that we took our own kettle. The mini-bar wasn't even half full but we didn't use it anyway. Would stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting the city.

Good central location

Set back a little from main square, giving easy access to Market. Staff are multi lingual and very helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Small room but with every amenity, includkng small.fridge (mini bar)

Nice hotel close to city square

Posted 08-Aug-2014
Location: Short walk to main square which gave access to many attractions.
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It was very pleasant and our room was of a good standard. The staff was very helpful with all of our requests, booking tours and taxis etc.

Great location

Tidy little hotel, perfectly located a minutes walk from the main square. A bar on the same street got noisy Friday and Saturday but apart from that it was great

Overall a nice hotel, just not for me.

Posted 19-Jul-2014
The staff where all very nice and helpful. The hotel is situated very close to the centre right next to some bars that remain very, very, very noisy until 5am which may be perfect for some people but sadly not me. We also shared our room with many mosquitos so all in all not much sleep at all. Breakfast was OK but a free selection of bread rather than a ration and a little extra choice of other food would make it better.

Lovely, but dated

Posted 12-Jul-2014
Pros: Large bathroom and very friendly and helpful staff and a very nice outdoor area with a weak wifi signal.
Cons: The heating and cooling of rooms and a general update.
Location: The hotel was very central and had all the main attractions within walking distance.
The hotel was approximately a 20 minute walk from the station , however very easy to find once you got to the central square. The location was very central within a two minuite walk of the main square though this did increase noise outside at night. Check in and out was very easy and staff were very helpful and friendly, even supplying a shaving kit and adaptors. The lift was very dated and a teeny bit scary as it jolts a lot, there are a lot of steep staircases. The room was dated but sizable clean and well looked after however, the room got extremely hot during the day though a minibar fridge (reasonably priced) and a fan are provided. The room was cleaned daily and fresh towel were provided if needed,. The breakfast was well stocked and provided lovely hot chocolate however, on the first day the milk was off.

Quaint Hotel near Market

Posted 08-Jul-2014
Pros: An excellent breakfast is served in the mornings. Everyone who worked at the front desk was friendly and personable and spoke several languages.
Cons: Loved it just the way it is.
Location: You are 3 blocks from the Market Square. Plenty of restaurants, shopping and major historical area. This town is beautiful!
This is the second time that I stayed at the Hans Memling, it's a great little hotel, and when I return to Brugge, I will stay there again. We stayed in the studio out the back of the hotel, right in their patio/garden court. It was a 2 story room with spiral stairs. It was an adorable space with a queen bed and a twin on the second floor. The rooms are clean and the beds are very comfortable.

great location, but bring your own mosquito spray

Posted 30-Jun-2014 on Hotels.com
We loved how close we were to all the sights in Bruges and liked our room when we first got in. But the mosquitoes were awful. The staff say that it is a problem in Bruges, but we had all the doors and windows shut and three spiders in the room who weren't pulling their weight.

Nice but very noisy.

Posted 17-Jun-2014
Pros: Nice and close to the main square
Cons: Cleanliness and decoration in the rooms.
Location: Being just off the main square we were ideally placed to view the town and sample the many beers and visit the attractions Brugge is famed for.
Our room was on the roadside elevation and due to buses passing every ten minutes or less from 8am to 11pm and the jazz club/bar being open all hours at night was very noisy and we lost a lot of sleep - any more than three nights would have been too much as we couldn't get a nap during the day because of the constant buses! On the bright side the breakfast was ample and staff always helpful and maybe the other rooms were quieter.

Close to the action

We stayed 9 - 13 June and really enjoyed the stay. The hotel is ideally situated just 2 minutes from the main square and has several bars in close proximity for that last minute night cap. The bus route is right outside on the cobbled street so can be noisy if your windows are open. One tip, dont eat on the square, its expensive and not brilliant, there is a great steak house behind the hotel which is grwat value and good food!!
