Beautiful Hotel in a Beautiful City

Posted 29-Jun-2015
Pros: decor, location, style, staff
Cons: wifi was a bit slow.
Location: most things in central Brugge are within 10 minutes walk.
One of the most lovely hotels I've ever stayed in. Location couldnt be better for central Brugges and the main areas of interest. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel really helped make our break something very special indeed.

Birthday treat.

We have stayed in a number of "nice" hotels during our married life and this has to rate as probably the best in terms of value for money. Perfect location, friendly and helpful staff but sbove all. ..... spotlessly clean.

Perfect location

Posted 26-Jun-2015
Pros: Position, breakfast, cleanliness, excellent bathroom
Cons: Rather old fashioned fake floral arrangements
Location: Burg Square and Markt and everything central restaurants and shops.A carriage ride around Brugges was very pleasant and good way to get your bearings.
Large central hotel, perfect position for visiting Bruges. No restaurant, but surrounded by every sort of restaurant. A tiny bit impersonal, but efficient and everything there. The maid service a little over zealous replacing towels and soap despite obeying instructions on the "dont waste water by having clean towels everyday notice". No food items in the Minibar, which is sad when you arrive, hungry. Bar staff a bit brusque. Bed comfy enough, room very clean & tidy.

Sehr gute Lage

Posted 23-Jun-2015
Pros: Ausstattung, Bar
Cons: Frühstück!!!
Schöne Zimmer und sehr edle Ausstattung des Hotels (insbes. Barbereich). Das Frühstück ist allerdings verbesserungswürdig, das Rührei war mit das schlechteste, was wir je gegessen haben.

Beautiful city, rude residents.

Posted 10-Jun-2015
I can't help but marvel how well this medieval city is preserved. It's truly beautiful and our hotel was no exception. Original homes of aristocrats in Bruges and they have so much charm. It was very well situated close to the main squares and restaurants. Nothing is really far in this small city. However, if you're expecting gracious hospitality you won't get it here. Starting at the moment of check-in we received a very brusk and less than welcoming experience. The gentleman at the front desk was very curt. When I asked him to confirm that we had the same room for 2 nights, he quickly chimed in with an annoyed tone "that we made 2 separate reservations", which we knew and they confirmed by e-mail. As it was after 8:00 p.m., I asked if he could make a restaurant recommendation which he did, but only one choice. Turned out the restaurant was closed! The next morning I asked the reception desk if they could help me with booking train tickets to Brussels and they refused. The website wasn't allowing me to book online and the response from the desk was go to the train station and queue up as that's what everyone does. There were other slightly annoying attitudes in and out of the hotel. My overall opinion is the people in Bruges are not very appreciative of tourists that are supporting their economy, but glad I had the chance to visit.

Very confirtable place

This is a lovely hotel, very well situated just off to the side of the Burg (large plaza) and quiet. The breakfast room is large and pleasant, and the choices are quite varied and if uniformly high quality. My only complaint is that the free wifi gave out every five-ten minutes and one had to log back in. A nuisance but no more than that.

Very spacious, clean, well appointed room in a beautiful hotel. Close to all the main attractions yet quiet. Very nice buffet breakfast with more than just cheese, breads and eggs. Would definitely come back again.
