“swimming pool fab”

We arrived on a sunny Friday evening . The reception staff soon gave us our key... but we had no indication what time breakfast was or any other information. To our dismay there were no drink making facilities in our room nor any information about the hotel . We however did sleep well until about seven o'clock when sadly the cleaning staff move their trollies outside ... thus disturbing, i should think everyone on the ground floor . I feel that information in the room would be good and perphaps a safe too, as we had to carry our passports everywhere with us .

“Decent hotel but parking is a problem”

Good hotel. Pretty central (10 mins walk to market square). Only concern is that there is no parking at the hotel but public parking is 5 mins away (9 euros for 24 hours). Considering that the hotel is on a highway and there is no parking, there should most definitely be FREE (or discounted parking) at the public car park. This is a major problem with this hotel. Otherwise the rooms were nice and clean and the hotel had a decent breakfast (by European standards). Near the hotel is another square which had a lovely local market on Saturday morning - there was some great local food here.

Great to hear your positive comments about our hotel in Bruges. Just to point out we do have limited parking at the hotel, which is payable locally and is ona first-come-first-served basis. the parking at 't Zand is the cheapest public parking in Bruges and is only 200m away. Just a slight correction...the hotel is not ona highway but is on the small inner ring road! You might be interested to know that the hotel re-opens 1st April 2011 after 3 months renovation. So we will be Bruges' newest hotel. Come and check us out again!

“bruges experience”

The hotel was ideally situated, and the staff were helpful - cleanliness in rooms and breakfast could not be faulted, except we all had an issue with the toaster! One room [out of the three booked] had a cold radiator, and this was not 'sorted' during our stay. Two other rooms had radiators that were 'just' warm. All individual rooms do need updating/redecoration and some stair/corridor carpets need replacing. Public rooms had a wonderful ambiance, and were positively tropical temps. Lovely atmosphere. Loads of restaurants nearby to eat in the evening.

Any - it is a lovley place to visit.

Thanks for your positive comments about your stay at our hotel in Bruges. Just to let you know that we have renovated the entire hotel and have Bruges' newest hotel, as of 1st april 2011. The public areas are completely transformed and the rooms are stylish and airy with lots of wood - parquet floors and new furniture. Its all done in a great modern colonial style. Come back and see the difference!

“To Be Avoided!”

An unpleasant smell pervaded the entire hotel (worse in the room). We were booked into a 'garden room' which was across the car park. Access via an uneven path rendered invisible by fallen leaves. Room barely large enough to house the small bed. No heating, TV missing and a dangerously exposed broken plug socket. An electric heater was brought but no apologies made for foul smell or lack of TV. Access to the room at night was positively dangerous - along the invisible path and up a steep spiral staircase that was all but overgrown by a 2 storey high bamboo bush. Path completely unlit and stairs virtually invisible in the dark. Breakfast a bit of a free for all with the one member of staff on duty unable to cope with the rush. Uncleared tables, wait for both clean plates and hot water in the coffee machine. This hotel is very poor and, in my opinion, very, very overpriced.

“Not Impressed”

Not really impressed with this hotel. It had a foul drainage smell throughout its corridors for the duration of my stay. The swimming pool was closed due to 'technical difficulties' (and has been for a few months. The decoration was tired and dated. It felt more like a two star hotel to me, when I compare it to other three star hotels that I have stayed in. On the plus side, the room was clean and reception staff pleasant and courteous. I would not stay at this hotel again though. I'd prefer to pay a bit more and not have a sewerage smell filtering through - most unpleasant.

I definitely recommend visiting this city. If you are into museums, then the Love Brugge City card is a good investment.

“What could be a good hotel spoiled by an obnoxious drain sewer smell pervading corridors & rooms”

This could have been considered a good hotel, the food at breakfast was good, rooms and beds comfortable and clean, pool was nice although hot tub out of order, but there was an obnoxious smell of drains/sewers pervading all the rooms and corridors in the vicinity of the lift shaft on both 1st and 2nd floor at rear of the building. This was so bad we had to go out and purchase a plug in air freshener, but even this did not completely disguise the smell. This needs to be sorted out because we wouldn't go back again because of it, and it is a shame.
