“Superb”
Perfect location, great rooms and extremely helpful service.
“We both got sick from the dust”
I initially booked this hotel because its a Best Western and its got a good location in the center of Bruges. I had never been and I just wanted a cheap and cheerful stay where I would be too far from the sights. Upon arriving the lobby was lovely, and the parrot was quite cute. The staff was nice enough and checked us in easily and quickly despite the fact it was close to midnight on arrival. The room unfortunately was quite dated, and looked tidy, but was completely covered in dust. There were stray hairs in the covers and the bedspread looked about 15 years old and probably hadn't been washed once in that time. I'm not a stickler for style because as long as its clean, I'm happy. But after a night's stay we both woke up with head congestion and coughing. After spending the day away we got better, but upon return the second night it happened again. And unfortunately it stuck with us on the train back to London. Now, its two days later and I'm still coughing. Hopefully its not something worse than dust! On top of that I had hung a wet towel on a chair, and after the maid service came, it was on the ground still. It sounds picky but my boyfriend and I agreed there was just a strong air of unhealthy filth going on. The breakfast was typical hotel breakfast (cereal and flavourless eggs), and the location was good, so if those are more important features than you would probably do okay here.
“Perfect Hotel when In Bruges”
This hotel seemed custom made for our needs for a weekend in Bruges. Within walking distance of the station although the cobbled streets make wheeling a case noisy! Hotel was brightly lit with a very nice reception area (with Parrot) with friendly informative staff. Receptionist explained that by showing the key card holder you would get discount off many attractions (typically 2-3 Euros which adds up). The room was of a good size with a small balcony and nice bathroom with a full size bath. The included breakfast was great, full continental with bacon and scrambled or boiled eggs which provided a solid foundation for a day of exploring. The location really is ideal, just off the main square/shopping streets so you can nip back to drop off any purchases or to change. The pool and the sauna provide a bit of relief the day after tackling the Belfort and we were allowed a 14:00 check out for no extra charge.
“Great location, good value!”
We booked this hotel as part of a package with the Eurostar and primarly went for it due to location and perceived good value for money and I'm pleased to say it lived up to both - spot on!....We definitely recommend it for a good value hotel.
“Very convenient clean hotel but could do with some redecoration and modernisation”
The staff are really friendly and helpful Our room was a duplex studio very clean with a small kitchen and living room downstairs and bedroom upstairs with bathroom (although toilet downstairs) The rooms are spotlessly clean but could do with some redecoration Good situation in Bruges so central
“great location”
Great location, very close to main square and shopping streets. Friendly and helpful staff, convenient abd secure car park, if a little expensive. Breakfast up to usual excellent standards,Plenty of nearby restaurants
“Excellent location ~ good facilities”
This was a very well positioned hotel just tucked behind the main town ~ square ideal location. Receptionists were helpful and spoke good English. Attractive pool, although small and good facilities. Comfortable room + armchairs. Breakfast a little pricey and not included. Can highly recommend it for a city break
“Centrally Located Hotel in Bruge”
Great little hotel. Enjoyed the stay. Staff helpful and friendly. Good breakfast. Spacious room. Good value for money.
“Better than expected”
We were worried after we had booked here as we read some very bad reviews. We found reception staff welcoming and friendly. The room,a superior one on the ground floor, was comfortable and clean. We looked out on to trees/bushes and a wall. So what? How long do you spend in your room when you are on a sight seeing trip?! We left the window open during the day and at night and were not bitten. Valuables were secure in the digital safe The breakfast was perfectly adequate. For people who complain - what do you have at home? There were 2 varieties of cereal, yoghurts or milk, bacon and scrambled egg. For those eating "continental" there was meat, cheese, several varieties of bread and croissants as well as 'do it yourself' toast and jams. Coffee, tea and fruitjuice was also available. The parrot in the hallway? My husband thought was delightful - I found it irritating. Ok,granted, the Belgian people could be a bit miserable, but whenever we initiated a greeting or conversation, we always found them friendly and welcoming. Try smiling - it seems to work!
“Great location, 2/3 star not 4 star”
On arrival - first room allocated was non-smoking (which we requested) but it smelt strongly of cigarettes and was a really dark unwelcoming room. So we changed to a room that was basic but ok. Definitely not a 4 star property. Location great. Staff not very helpful. If you have a fear of birds - avoid - as they have a parrot in a cage which is often let out in reception.
