I had an overnight layover in Stockholm, and chose the Mornington so that I could sleep a bit. The hotel was clean and lovely, and when my computer plug was not compatible with the plug in the wall, the person at reception was very kind and let me use an adaptor for free. I also had to leave before breakfast was scheduled to be ready, and when the receptionist noticed that detail she offered to have someone prepare breakfast for me almost an hour before schedule, and I didn't even ask.
This is the third time we have stayed at the Brommavik whilst visiting family nearby. We always receive a warm and friendly welcome, and although not big the double rooms are comfortable and beautifully kept. We particularly enjoy the very full breakfast - the sour milk is a real treat and do ask for porridge (Grott?) if you want any. As it was near Christmas we thought the provision of cups of Glogg (mulled wine) was a lovely touch and perfectly in tune with the nature of the hotel. Although you have to accept that the hotel is not in the centre of town, transport in and out is easy. Overall we would thoroughly recommend the Brommavik Hotel.

I checked into a famous hostel in Stockholm and was surprised how bad it was. Hotels in Stockholm were fully booked but StayAt Bromma had one room. My only concern was that it was not in the city center. It was actually good that the hotel was located in a suburb since the hotel was mixed in a residential area. I quickly reserved it for three nights and it was great. The main advantage was how close it was to the train station at Alvik. It is a 3 to 5 minute walk from the hotel lobby to the train platform and 20 minutes to T Centralen. The hotel room was actually a small apartment with kitchenette, small fridge, TV, full desk, and a full closet. Coffee maker and iron board with iron were also included. The decor was new and modern. These amenities saved me a lot of money since I could cook instead of eating out and I washed my clothes there. There are two lifts since the hotel is over 10 stories high, breakfast is available, washing and laundry machines, and Internet access (you need your own network cable). The surrounding neighborhood is great because it has markets, restaurants, and services that are not visible in a big city like Stockholm. I honestly do not see any reason why I would stay in a Stockholm city hotel in the future.
Set in a quiet neighborhood, this hotel is a great place to relax and unwind. The breakfast is very nice and the food selection is perfect. The staff is friendly and very professional. Free wifi that is fast and easy to connect with makes information look ups simple. The beds were soft and very comfortable .
We had a small emergency when the bacon caught fire in the kitchen, the man on staff (Fredrick) reacted with in a quick and professional manner. He extinguished the fire immediately, called the fire brigade, and made sure that the hotel was completely evacuated. He then checked to make absolutely sure that everyone was outside before allowing himself to be treated for smoke inhalation. I realize that a fire is not usually something good to mention but it is the best way to demonstrate the cool, calm professionalism of the staff at the hotel. Under extreme conditions the actions were perfect.
The hotel is easy to get to yet can be a bit difficult to find for someone not sure of how to read the address. The best route to take is; T-bana green line #18 To Alvik. At the Alvik station take the Tram to the first stop (Appleviken). From the station proceed across the tracks toward the Appleviken Bokhandlen (bookstore) but stay on the sidewalk that passes the Bloomar (flower store) it will be about 3 blocks further along the street on the right hand side. The hotel will have the word painted on the building and an electric sign telling the time and temp out along the street.
