Close to station

Posted 09-Jul-2014
Pros: Location. The waiter in the bar/restaurant was very pleasant and helpful and got the orders correct every time.
Cons: Lift's, reception pettiness, parking charges.
Location: About a mile from the Docks area which is the hub of Bristol tourism.
Purpose built hotel that at least has it's own parking garage which they charge a tenner a day for. Rooms are medium size although they do ask if you want to upgrade to "exec" for even more money. Front desk staff wouldn't check us in when we declined the upgrade earlier than 1.30 although rooms were available which seemed a bit petty. The lifts were yet again the talking ones which are programmed that assume you are too stupid to know the doors are closing/opening/which floor etc.

Hotel reasonably positioned

Stayed here 2 nights while visiting friends, near the M32 and close to city centre. Underground parking was very good and not overcrowded. Elevator was a little bizarre always stopping at ground floor when I never pressed for that while heading to floor one. I paid for dinner the 2nd night, the Thai curry was very tasty and the waitress friendly. Concierge girl & morning man very helpful, courteous and friendly. Overall a very good service.

Pros: Most things
Cons: Have twin bedded room while sofa bed is big and fairly comfortable, it would be nice to have a proper bed
Location: Near the station walks by river not too far from town centre which can be accessed by ferry

Pros: Location suited my needs -- close to rail station but also able to walk to shopping areas and central harbour. Staff were superb-friendly & helpful !!
Cons: Nothing -keep up the good work and thanks for a pleasant stay.

Work related visit but because of hotel's great location I managed to see a lot of Bristol's attractions and was also very close to the rail station. Staff were outstanding--very friendly and also so helpful with directions. Would recommend this hotel to others.

Outstanding Customer Service

Posted 28-Apr-2014
Pros: The helpful staff, the size of the room and the breakfast.
Cons: The double glazing must be very old and isn't thick enough to cope with the traffic noise in the first room we stayed in.
Location: This is about a ten minute walk from the river in Bristol and about the same distance to the shops. There is a handy Tesco Metro on Victoria St.
We stayed on a Saturday night and were originally booked into Room 320 by reception. At midnight it became increasingly evident that Saturday night is party night in Bristol. The traffic was still busy and the double glazing/air con just couldn't dull the sound and I rang reception asking if they could move us to a quieter room as I couldn't sleep. Eduardo the night manager was brilliant. Even though the hotel was nearly full he rang us back within five minutes and had managed to find us a room at the back - 315. He even helped us move our stuff. All the other staff at reception and in the dining room were very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was good quality, the parking was easily accessible. I see that one or two others have complained about the cost of parking but I don't think that £10 is an unreasonable price to pay for parking for 24 hours in a busy city centre.

Nice hotel, horrible AC and customer service

Posted 24-Apr-2014
Pros: Quiet location, good breakfast, helpful staff and good rate.
Cons: AC is terrible, paying for parking at £10 a night, children area.
Location: It's about 10-15min walk to town. When raining, expect £7 for a taxi one way.
We stayed here for 3 nights. All was good. Varied fresh breakfast, quiet and clean. The bad things: AC that kept recycling hot air in a hot day. Staff at reception or those that turned to the room didn't do a lot to resolve the situation. Have to pay for parking in such a distant location may not be acceptable for some, but we didn't have a choice.

Weekend Break

Posted 22-Apr-2014
Pros: The rooms was a good size and it was nice to have a comfy setee after a long day sight seeing.
Cons: The breakfast could have been a bit hotter.
Location: Good location, tour buses stopped outside and very close to Temple Mead Station.
Had a lovely time in Bristol, the hotel was in a very good location.
