Above average accommodation, close to rail station

Posted 24-May-2015
Excellent room facilities with a slight upscale feel. Even an unexpected Bluetooth speaker. Helpful staff. Short walk from Temple Meads station with buses and hop-on hop-off stop right outside the door. A bit removed from the city centre, major historic sites and main restaurant areas.

Quiet hotel near the central area of Bristol

Posted 21-May-2015
Pros: Quiet pleasant hotel in nice neighbourhood which is also convenient to central areas of Bristol
Location: Location was good - not in noisy area but close enough to walk to many areas in central Bristol as well as nearby restaurants.
Area was very convenient, but not noisy. Very nice little restaurants nearby for both breakfast and dinner. Room was spacious, but a little stark. It was a little hot and I could not get the temperature down at first, but once I realized that the windows opened a bit, the room temperature was fine. Hotel staff were very helpful. Internet connection was good.

Clean comfortable close to centre

Posted 05-May-2015
Pros: It was very comfortable and good for visiting the city.
We spent 2 nights here bed and breakfast. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with a kettle, ironing board and reasonable hairdryer. We found the bed very comfortable and the room wasn't overheated. There was some traffic noise so we couldn't sleep with the window open, but there was no noise from other rooms on the same floor or above. Breakfast was very good with plenty of fruit and cooked food. There was a bar and area to sit but it wouldn't be a place to sit for too long as it's rather sparsely furnished.

Well located, clean and friendly hotel

Posted 27-Apr-2015
Pros: Friendly, helpful staff.
Cons: The decor of the public rooms is very contemporary but a touch sparse.
Location: Excellent location for business and leisure.
We stayed Friday and Saturday night in Spring - hotel full on Saturday, which also meant car park in basement was very full. We asked for and received a quiet room at the back of the hotel away from traffic and lifts. The hotel is a Novotel, so you get a branded product which is predictable and reliable; at this hotel, though, you also get very friendly and helpful staff. Overall, we got good value for money and do not have any complaints - quite rare nowadays!

Very clean and convenient hotel

Posted 20-Apr-2015
Pros: Very friendly reception staff, very clean and very good breakfast.
Cons: The air-conditioning system was quite poor. On a sunny day it was very warm and it was too noisy to open the window. Rooms would benefit from a fan.
Location: Very convenient to train station and airport bus drop-off/pick up are also extremely close. 10 mins walk to main shopping district and Castle Gardens
Arrived at 11am and very friendly receptionist checked me in. Room was not ready but they were more than happy to mind my luggage and I was glad to wander round Bristol. Came back after 2pm (usual check-in time) and found my room to be very spacious and extremely clean. Huge double bed and sofa bed so room could easily sleep a family of four. Fridge in room with complementary water and MP3/Bluetooth device to play music from your mobile, nice touch. Bathroom also very clean with nice fluffy white towels. Room was facing the main road but I hardly noticed the traffic. Only concern was the air-con as seemed old and hardly made any difference on a warm day. Had a great night's sleep after a night out in Bristol as hardly heard any noise from hotel or elsewhere, although it was quite warm due to air-con issue. Good water pressure in shower. Great breakfast in the morning with the standard I would expect from a 4 star hotel - fresh fruit, cereals, breads, yogurts, hot buffet breakfast which wasn't greasy etc. Also a pancake-making machine which kids must love. Breakfast did get busy on Sunday morning so best to go before 9 to avoid the queues. Had a drink in the bar on the Saturday night but didn't get a chance to use any of the other facilities. All in all a very enjoyable stay and very good value through the pre-paid rate which included breakfast.

Nice hotel in middle of Bristol City Center.

Posted 09-Apr-2015
Pros: The Breakfast. friendly staff
Cons: Air conditioning needs addressing
Location: We were able to walk to Harbour side and shops ( approx. 15mins walk)
The Hotel was lovely, but room far too hot and noisy ( we had a room at the front of hotel) We had to open the window to cool down the room as air conditioning was very poor. We didn't sleep at all due to heat and road noise The buffet breakfast was excellent

stay at novotel Bristol from 23/03/15 to 29/03/15

Posted 30-Mar-2015
Pros: nice hotel close to city centre, food was really good but to expensive cheapest wine £19.50 a bottle
Cons: we would have eaten in the restaurant more if not so expensive
Location: lots to see a do in and around Bristol
most of the staff where friendly, we stayed on level 2 and it took three attempts to inform reception staff ice making machine on that level was not working before it was repaired. was shocked to fined parking was charged at £10 a day, and also charged £22 for water, thinking it was complimentary
