good spot

Posted 17-Dec-2014
Pros: Very clean and modern in the public areas. The staff were mostly lovely
Cons: Accepting the idea that I chose what I wanted to pay for my room and accept that. Not having nasty stains on the bedroom carpet could be improved.
Location: Good spot and close to the sights and restaurants that we wanted to to in the evening.
The hotel is well placed close to Temple Meads Station and within good walking distance of the city centre. we arrived at the hotel about 1:30 pm and were told that we could not gain entry to our room as the check in time was 2:00pm, then they tried to perusade us to pay extra for an upgrade to our room. This was a dampener on our arrival, we were not given a reson why we could go to the room such as it was wasn't ready, just that we were early. I also resented that they spent time pestering us for an upgrade, making out that complimentary bath robes and mineral water was worth the extra ££'s it would have cost. However, the room was well appointed but there were nasty stains on the carpet! The breakfasts were very good and the dining room staff were very accomodating and friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them and they made our stay very pleasurable even though there English was still being acquired. They were a lovely group of people!

Conveniently positioned for the railway station

Posted 11-Dec-2014
Pros: Convenience, facilities and price.
Cons: No swimming pool prevents a five star rating.
Location: Ideal location close to the railway station within walking distance of the town centre shops as well as the restaurants and bars on the harbourside.
Ideal location close to the railway station and within walking distance of the town centre shops as well as the restaurants and bars on the harbourside. Comfortable large room with kingsize bed, adequate shower but no bath, although this suited me. Car parking available on site (at extra cost) if needed makes it even more convenient. Would definitely use this hotel again.

City centre hotel

Posted 26-Nov-2014
Pros: Large room.
Cons: Carpet stained by bathroom door was off putting as it was the first thing you see as you enter the room. Switches by the bed a bit grubby.
Location: 10 mins walk from city centre. Easy walk from train station.
Good location for temple meads. Typical chain hotel room but tidy and well equipped. Pleasant hotel.

Decent hotel not too far away from the centre

The hotel was fine for an overnight stay in Bristol. I did find the bed very uncomfortable though. Very soft mattress and the bed frame was very squeeky.

Convenient Location

Posted 14-Oct-2014
Pros: Bright, clean, convenient location
Cons: Value for money - heating system.
Hotel was conveniently located close to the station. It was clean, bright and staff were generally friendly and tried to help. Check-in was tedious. I had to wait rather a long time as initially, there was only one person on the desk. Staff had difficulty understanding me and tried to check me in using another guest's details (wrong gender but a similar and common English surname). This hotel was uncomfortably cold in all areas apart from the corridors outside the rooms and the dining room. I could not sleep the first night - no extra blankets available in the room. I asked for the heating in my room to be turned on. Initially I was offered a blanket but having paid in excess of £120 a night for a room, I felt entitled to heating. The staff member could not get the heating unit to do anything but blow out cold air. I accepted the blanket and staff brought an electric radiator to the room - which was helpful but had to be stuck in the middle of the room to even take the edge off the chill in there. On checkout I mentioned the low temperatures in the hotel to be told that the system takes a few days to 'warm up' to provide heating when the temperature drops outside. So, overall for the cost this hotel was not good value.
