Without trying to disrespect HI, I wasn't expecting much from this hotel. It was reasonably priced and had a convenient location.
Upon arrival i didn't think it looked that great from the outside if i am absolutely honest. However as soon as i stepped through the door, i was immediately surprised.
It was modern, spacious and well laid out.
It was a lot bigger than i'd anticipated, which i assume is due to being aimed at a business audience with the amount of conference rooms they have.
The room was really nice, although quite small, but comfortable enough for a couple of nights.
Breakfast was really nice. Large buffet with most things you would expect. it has a small bar and a cafe serving starbucks.
The two minor things i would say about this hotel are;
It was quite noisy. I'm not sure if i can blame the hotel for that, as they can't control every guest who stays.
The other is the price of the wifi. I find it ridiculous that in the modern age with the ease and cost of communications "a sector i work in", that it can cost £14+ for the internet, but again i assume that is because they are business orientated and are trying make a good profit on that side of the business.
overall i would recommend it here and would stay here again if was in the Bristol Area.
Don't be fooled by dated exterior, there has obviously been some money spent on modernising the inside of this hotel. The reception a bar area are smart and spacious. We only stayed one night and were meeting friends in town. The hotel is perfectly located to walk in to the centre.
We booked this hotel as it's a stones throw from Bristol airport, a comfortable boutique hotel with beautiful rooms friendly staff and a lovely restaurant, ideal location for the night before you fly off on holiday, you can also leave your car in a safe car park it's only £10 for a taxi to the airport so much cheaper than airport parking.

Probably the best location and view in Bristol, overlooking the Avon Gorge and the Clifton Suspension Bridge.
The hotel public areas are a little jaded, but certainly perfectly acceptable, and clean and comfortable.
the staff were warm and welcoming, and helpful at all times.
Perfect location for sightseeing, in the hip area of Clifton village, five minutes walk to the bridge (amazing views) and to the city open bus tour stop. Plenty to see and visit in the city.... needs a couple of days at least.
Would recommend the hotel to everyone.
Great location, accommodation ,staff and food.

We enjoyed our stay at these apartments as our request for a 'quiet room' had been noted and that is what we got. It was very easy to get to Bath by bus or train, and also to the amazing Avon Gorge Bridge. There were lots of museums, cinema, theatres and lots of historical and cultural interests. Good, relaxing trips on the river were possible. Although reception hours were a bit limited, when open, those on duty were pleasant and helpful. An excellent tourist info office at the harbour-side met all enquiries. No shortage of good restaurants/cafes also, though not too many near the hotel.
