“Good value for money”
This in a good position, the Hotel decor in the rooms is a bit dated. The room was comfortable and worth the money.
“Tired but adequate for the low price”
Tired but adequate for the low price
“Clifton Hotel”
I stayed at the Clifton for 4 nights and would happily recommend it. Lovely bar and restaurant
“Good service but average room”
Single room on the third floor. Room was awkwardly shaped. The room warmed up very quickly. Window didn't help ventilation of the room and there was an infestation of wasps somewhere so could not leave the window open for long. Service was good, especially as I had a few problems before confirming my reservation. It would not be my first choice for a hotel in Bristol but you can do much worse.
“Small and unpleasant”
I think this was way too expensive for the price. The room on the top floor I was given at a really solid expensive was tiny, has no a/c, and the water pressure was so awful I forgo the shower... The internet has to be purchased extra, but the was they calculate it, it's not all that bad. The location is very good, close to the university and is in walking distance to the central bus station. The Racks is ok, reasonable beer selection but the food is no good, and the wait staff is terrible. This is in contrast with hotel receptionists who were quite friendly. Overall, POOR grade from me.
“Five nights for a conference”
This hotel is quite comfortable but older and small-ish, but has some quirky features. The student type decor is comfy if low key, the food good in the restaurant on the ground floor but very busy and noisy at the weekend. My friend's room on the ground floor was very noisy with the bar and outdoors terrace cafe, but mine on the second floor was reasonable (mostly). Friendly and helpful staff, but cramped space and noise downstairs give this hotel a medium rating.
“Visiting Friends nearby”
Basic, but extremely good value. The clifton hotels chain advantage is simply that they are located in a part of Bristol that is convinient for visiting friends and going out in clifton. Most hotels are in the city centre and offer a more modernised sophisticated product, but this hotel is close to both clifton village and white ladies road which is very advantageous.
“Will definitely go back and certainly recommend to anyone.”
We had a pleasant stay at the Clifton Hotel. Managed to park just around the corner, pleasant welcoming reception and cafe area in the hotel. Great position for Clifton and Park Street. Lovely buildings in the area. All accessible on foot from the hotel. The room was pleasant and clean, had all we needed. Bathroom clean and adequate. Good to have heating we could control in bedroom. Would definitely stay again - very reasonable rates for location and standard of accommodation.
“Girls night out”
Night out in Clifton. Booked room due to price & location to party venue. Hotel has great coffee shop downstairs. Rooms are good. Bathrooms need updating but rooms were comfortable. Bedrooms really warm! Would definately stay again!
“Great atmosphere!”
The hotel is part of a very nice bar/restaurant/music venue and, well, I know its not for everyone, but I quite enjoyed having quite a lot of people around, particularly as I was travelling by myself. The hotel is very nicely decorated, although in need of some maintenance. I will certainly be going back.
