“Central Brisbane at a reasonable price.”
Good sized apartments. Clean. Good gym, although TV's didn't work. Parking a challenge MUCH better than iSTAY River City for a similar cost
“It's a treasure”
Yes, we are a repeat visitor staying in both the 1 and 2 bedroom apartments, both are of ample size, very clean and well furnished with all that you need including daily housekeeping. Carparking is an ease coming in from Charlotte Street (lane next to Pancake Parlour) and staff will meet you. Reception is manned 24 hours but it has one of the better electronic security systems to use and good location opposite Conrad. Large gym but the lap pool can get a little busy at peak times.
“Busy during Riverfire”
We stayed here for Riverfire 2010. The checkin process was inconvenient with you having to get buzzed in to the car park, which is tucked away behind the hotel in a not too easy place to find, and receive a car park number to go too. Unfortunately someone was already parked in that car park spot, so we met a member of the hotel staff at the car park who advised us to temporarily park in a spot until they could locate a different park number. The park we temporarily parked in was that of a resident in the building who returned to the spot and was very displeased we had parked in that spot and they had a go at us for parking in the spot. The hotel was obviously very busy for riverfire, but the set up and design of the property and hotel is in a way that makes it busy and inconvenient to stay here if you have a car. The main benefit of the hotel was its excellent location. The pay TV satelitte kept dropping out as well.
“"Great spot, but take your Spray n Wipe"”
The staff were all very friendly and courteous. I booked in early on one of the busiest day/nights of the year and they were well organised. However, I had requested a King room and called in advance the day before to confirm this but still they alloated me a Queen. They corrected it immediately upon my request (because I arrived early I suspect). The front desk staff were nice and accomodadting. Excellent position at the top of the city mall. Easy access to S'Bank, casino, Performing Arts, etc. Can't fault location. The room has seen better days though. To be honest it was kind of grubby. The shower still had hair on the shower screen! The kitchen still had crumbs over it. The vents of the air-con were covered in dust and mould. The blankets were both dirty with obvious spills on them, they had just been refolded and placed back in the cuboards - yuck! They have a fun pool overlooking the Brisbane river but no pool towels. It filled our needs at a decent price on a busy night but I would not recommend it to my 'fussy' friends. Pack a 'chux' and 'Spray and Wipe'.
