“affordable, convienent and comfortable”

hotel is modern euro style. but a 15 minute walk from the river area of resturants and shops. Only negative is walk back is all up hill. Would stay again.

i found the south beach area, not walking distant from the hotel to be an neat area.

“Comfortable”

Nothing great but comfortable. Within walking distance to city centre. TV in a very uncomfortable location.. No lounge chairs

“"JUST WHAT WE NEEDED”

This hotel is a close walk to the main shops. Close to train that runs to other towns and airport (20min) Staff were very nice and gave us a map of the city. Southbank (Manmade Lagoons) A pretty 5 km walk. The Buffet Breakfast was the best with a huge selection of food. Free internet use. We stayed one night so was perfect for what we needed. Quite a spacious room comfortable bed. Would stay here again. Thanks

Area recommendations

South Bank has loads of etting places + markets Sat/Sun Queen Street - Shops - Winter Garden, Malls etc. Broadwalk - Can go on Yarra River Cruise lots of resturants. Loads of seven dairys on just about each block. Other Places of Interest - Musuem, Maritime, Art Gallery, Bribane Convention Centre

When to go

We went the week after labour weekend so not as busy as the school holidays. Southbank is good for walking, bike riding and familes with small children.

“Great spot.”

This was a very nice hotel. 5 min walk to pier with loads of restaurants and waterfront for water taxi. Inhouse bar and restaurant to top it off. Great service from the desk with local tours. Went to Australia Zoo from here on a guided tour which made the day with the tips and advice he gave. CC's Tours.

“Late Sunday check out a great bonus”

A very comfortable& clean place to stay just a short walk to the Brisbane mall, our main destination for the w/e. Don't go expecting a view. The building next door is not that attractive! The room was very clean and comfortable. I loved the thick towels in the bathroom. The staff were all super friendly and helpful - at the door, front desk, restaurant and the lovely lady, Lyn, who cleaned our room. But, the real bonus of the Novotel is the late Sunday check out. It meant that we could spend Sunday enjoying the markets and the mall, then return to our room, freshen up, pack our shopping and head for the airport without having to worry. It really meant a full week-end of enjoyment, not just a day and a bit. Biggest problem: breakfast on Sunday morning. The dining room could not cope with the number of diners. We were apologetically told there was at least a half hour wait (it was 0930) and perhaps we should consider ordering room service, as there were 4 of us, we were not keen on that idea, so we ended going elsewhere. Just as well there was a late check out or we would struggled time-wise.Our pre-paid breakfast was refunded at check-out.

“wonderful king sized bed”

we loved staying here . The breakfast buffet included in the rate was excellent, service fabulous , and the room very very comfortable. King sized bed was very comfortable +++, and the flat screen tv very large. Also there are some computers available in the foyer and internet acces is free. Would definitely stay again

“Excellent 4 Star Hotel in a great location .”

I was very impressed by the service at this hotel . The staff were friendly , the room was comfortable and an excellent buffet breakfast was provided. The location is excellent as well . It's a 5 minute walk to Central Station and 10 -15 minutes to The Botanical Gardens and Roma Gardens
