“Expensive Internet”

I would rate the Hotel as a 3 to 3.5 Star Hotel, Rooms were ok and clean, Hotel needs maintenance, Internet and parking is expensive, this on top of a high room rate, I will shop around next time as I believe you can get better for your money spent.

“A ripe of?”

Average staff service One lift not working during stay appears to been out for some time. Small room with bathroom in very poor condition. A tired old hotel in a reasonable location trading on the past. Definitely over priced and not up to expectations.

“Average”

Found staff not that helpful in directions or a map. Room looked clean but on closer inspection was grubby with fingerprints on mirrors, carpet not properly cleaned. Bathroom was tired and quite pokey. Room from balacony in contrast was beautiful. Steps leading into foyer and there seemed to be no assistance in helping with luggage.

“Not really impressed”

I think my feelings about this stay can be summarised as follows: I expect more from a four and half start hotel; this really felt like a three star hotel.

“We are already booked to go back!”

My visit to the Grand Chancellor Hotel was for medical reasons as the hotel is located in close proximity to St. Andrew's Hospital. But I have to say I was very impressed with the hotel for their caring and professional approach to our stay. We will be going back very shortly, again for medical reasons, and again staying at this hotel because we are so impressed.

Area recommendations
Spring Hill is a very pleasant suburb to stay in. It is close to parkland, close to the city centre of Brisbane and is a very convenient free public bus route into the city.

“was nice”

Loved the hotel and the area was really nice, view for top floors and parklands across the road were excellent. All the staff where nice and helpfull with any question we had. Found the hotel's food prices where rather high when 2mins down the road you could get more food than what the hotel served for half the price. Hotel had a few things on the walls they were fixing like cracks and such. Otherwise was a great place for a relaxing trip away

Area recommendations
Roma Street Park lands is a excellent place and is across the road for the hotel Go on a city sights tour was a lot of fun learnt a lot from the bus drivers about the history of the city and areas. you get on and off the bus all day at any of the marked spots only pay once 2 bus stops with in walking distance of hotel
Must see
Roma Street park lands across the road 16-hectares of gardens. is the worlds largest subtropical garden must do if time is the city sights tour bus was a lot fun and takes you to some really nice places and you learn heaps along the way
Dining
have a walk around the local streets hotel prices are very high but local shops are cheaper for breakfast and lunch visit wickED was great little take away shop with really nice food and good prices and serve size

“Great weekend getaway”

I was pleasantly surprised to see that the hotel room was nicer than the pictures! We had a nice large bed and the shower was very large. We had a little balcony and quite a nice view of the river and Roma St Parklands which was quite handy since the multicultural festival was on there that weekend. Very nice hotel which has its highs and lows to it's location....it is a little further to walk for a selection of restaurants (there are just a couple in close proximity) but because it's a few blocks out of the very middle of the city it is a bit more peaceful. Would definitely stay again!

“Highly Recommended”

Great hotel in great location. Excellent service from the minute we walked in the door. Our room overlooked the city which was very beautiful at night. Modern, clean and very comfortable room. The only downside was the size of the bathroom. It was very very small and like a closet, but other than that everything else was excellent. We had room service for lunch and dinner and the food was very very nice. The chef even made up a special cheesy pasta for our 2 year old son, he ate every last bite. Overall we would highly recommend the Grand Chancellor and we will definitely be staying here in future when we visit Brisbane.
