“Close to city mall”
We were very happy with the staff, they were very friendly and accommodating. The motel is working distance to the city mall. The restaurant offered great meals and fantastic buffet breakfast. Would definitely return.
“Great location near train station”
This hotel is conveniently located above the Roma Street station providing easy access to public transportation. Our 8th floor room was very nice and spacious for the price. We didn't like the surcharge for internet access, but that seems to be common in Australia. We would stay here again.
“Not 4 star”
The circa 1990 decor may be a bit of a giveway that this place is in desperate need of renovation. And extremely expensive wired internet is sooooo '90s too. Where the bloody booger (that's snot) that was on the side of the sink fits into my 1990s theme, I don't know. It is convenient to the train station, and the manager did come and apologise for the cleaning staff not being efficient, but overall it's a tired old place remeniscent of a cheap motel.
“Nice hotel centrally located”
The hotel was clean, cost about AUD$50 by taxi from airport to the hotel. The hotel is centrally located so it is convenient to go downtown. Everyone I met in Brisbane seems to recommend Tukka for crocodile meat, and it took less than 30 minutes to walk there from the hotel. The hotel concierge was extremely helpful to find us a rental car to drive down to Goldcoast for a day. Overall, good hotel and clean, right next to the train station and that also makes moving around town easy!
“Close to city which was a big plus as well”
Travelled with a 14 month old child. Room was big, as the bed, restaurant was pleasant. Parking was expensive. Internet was per PC not per connection and expensive.
“Ideal location but noisy due to the trains”
We chose the Holiday Inn for its location right next to the Roma Street station and also the excellent rate we got for the double room. Renovations were happening at the front of the hotel and in the reception area which made things cramped in reception. The room was extremely clean and excellent presenation but a little tired and dated in appearance. Not sure if the renovations will extend to the rooms or not? Whilst extremely convenient for us, the noise took some getting used to even on the 13th floor. The trains thunder on through below until late at night amd are quite noisy. But we were only staying a few hours in transit to the airport for an early morning flight. More than met our needs for this purpose.
“Greta Location”
This hotel is in a great location if you are travelling by train. The service by all staff members was fabulous- even very early in the morning when I checked out. I thought the room (particularly the bathroom) was a little bit tired looking and could use a face lift but every thing was clean and the bed was comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.
“Impressed”
I am happy with my experience at the hotel, and will make use of it again in future. The rates are good and the service was very good.
“They tried hard!”
Staff very friendly and cooperative,and could not be faulted. We had arrived early and the room was immediately made available to us. Unfortunately, alhough the bed had been changed, there were still used towels and used toiletries in the bathroom. Breakfast was self service - if you could find a clean table to sit at, and upon using the coffee machine, a black beetle scurried out from a vent in the machine. I pointed this out to one of the staff who just said - oh I;ll get someone to clean it out! Apart from that a good location and ideal for catching the City Cat which ferries up and down the river/ For around $3 you can get on and off and ride all day!!
