"A charming and peaceful hotel just outside of town"
Our party, 3 adults and a baby, stayed at the hotel in early July 2014. We were visiting Disneyland Paris for a few days and used the hotel mainly as a place to sleep and prepare meals. The 4 person suite was very clean and spacious and the kitchenette provided everything that we needed to prepare breakfasts and packed lunches. The hotel staff provided a cot for the baby upon request at a cost of 10 EUR per night.
The staff at the hotel were always very polite and whilst not all were fluent English speakers we were able to get answers to any questions with a bit of patience. There is a bar available in the restaurant and a terrace overlooking the picturesque golf course.
It is a 15 minute drive from Disneyland and around 20 minutes from the enormous Auchan hypermarket at Val d'Europe. You will have to pass through a toll on the A4 to reach both Disneyland and Val d'Europe (2.10 EUR at time of our visit) however this wasn't a huge issue and the roads were always very clear. Be warned that sat nav may offer you a route avoiding the tolls, turning left out of the hotel, but we found that the village it goes through have closed many of the roads to non-residents and we had to turn back.
Although I enjoy a round of golf, I didn't manage a chance to play a round on this visit. However we do plan to return again and I will hope to add an extra day to play one of the 2 beautiful courses. The club has sets of golf clubs available for use at no cost to guests.
we decide to book this hotel two days before and from the day we arrived it was heaven for all my femily. the service was incredible. especially Mr. Anis from the reception. he explain us evrything and so kindly
Nice experience at Radisson Blu. We got upgraded to a Business Class room which was lovely.
Breakfast was nice - pastries were delicious and shuttles on time to Disneyland and back to the hotel.
Will def stay here again
The hotel is conveniently located and close to Disneyland and the train station. Friendly staff. I only wish I could have written down the name of the young lady that checked us in. She was very accommodating and very knowledgeable. She arranged for an early morning taxi to take us to the train station. She even packed breakfast for us, since we were leaving the hotel before their included breakfast opened. The room were quite clean and comfortable. We were a party of 4 adults and stayed in one of their family rooms which had a queen bed, 2 adult bunk beds and a roll-away. 4 adults to a room is rare in Europe and most sell out quickly.
There is a shuttle (#54) from Disneyland to hotels in the area, including this one. The hotel is about 1 mile away from Disneyland and the train station. When park closes its a zoo to get on the shuttle. There is no line or queue. People just rush the bus without regard for young ones or elderly. You need to be patient. They run often and make many trips. We walked it because we couldn't believe people could act that way. This is no knock on the hotel. the shuttle services other hotels as well. However, the system needs improvement and people need to be civil.
I was surprised how good the Explorer Hotel was - we were a little worried by some of the reviews. Our son has many complex food allergies which the staff were all aware of and they provide separate food for him at dinner time - not rubbish allergy food but proper salmon, chicken or cod with vegetables and rice or potatoes - and large portions. A special thanks to Patrick Pichon who took our long list of food allergies and found out what we could and couldn't eat for breakfast and dinner, he also greeted us on arrival and made sure Fabien ( dinner manager who was also fabulous) and Gael (the breakfast manager) knew who we were and all the staff were really friendly and helpful. They also provided us with a fridge in our room 5 mins after arrival because we had to carry special milk and margarine.
The room was great and our 3 year old loved the bunk beds - we were ment to have a 4 bed Crew room but they left the door open to the adjoining room which had another bunk bed in it and another flat screen tv. The room was decorated like a pirate ship :) . The shower was great - even though on of the kids had pulled the metal casing off the tube - plenty of hot water and high pressure. The tv was great once you worked out how to use it - they had Cbeebies in English - although it didn't get much use it was good to distract the little one while we fed him a snack.
The whole hotel is themed for little ones with a dragon in the foyer, 3 pirates ships one in the heated pool.
