“thank goodness I was only there one night”

This hotel is dreadful. I was given a smoking room, although I had requested non-smoking. They said they were sold out - OK, fine, given the snow storm in the region left many people without power. But they had NO interest whatsoever in making any accommodations, or even acknowledging that this might be anything short of perfect. Apology? None. When I got to the room, the next door neighbors had also left their dog alone in the room, scratching and barking incessantly. Front desk was not interested in dealing with the situation. The room was not cleaned well - found hair and a used washcloth in the bathroom. Gross! I won't be back under any circumstances.

“Party, noisy, neighborhood hangout, but room was fine”

Basically, the title says it all. I was only there for business one night, and while my room was fine, the restaurant and lobby environment was more like a local pub. I could not stay downstairs for very long. I could not get a healthy dinner. Everything offered is deep fried and unhealthy. I ordered a salad, which was a wilted mess.

What I did not like were that the rooms in this hotel did not have blackout drapes and the room that I was in faced a parking garage which made me very uncomfortable. I had the glow of the garage all night long and the strange feeling that I had a total lack of privacy. Otherwise the room was clean and the hotel was quiet. Please note that the resturant in the hotel closes at 10PM and there is only a Mc Donald's and a Subway near by to get something to eat if you arrive late.

The Bridgeport Holiday Inn met my needs in terms of location, availability and price.

“DIRTY ROOM”

Found a towel on the bathroom floor with hair. I ended up with free breakfast and parking. I understand this happens sometimes but I'd rather not have to deal with it.

nice hotel, good service, but seems to be in a fallen neighborhood. There are a lot of abandoned buildings and the even the room folder says that if you see anyone unusual outside before you go to contact security for an escort.

“Comfortable and quiet”

About 4 blocks from the Bridgeport train station. Neighborhood a little questionable. Overall the hotel and the restaurant were clean and neat. Maybe a little more than I wanted to spend for a one night stay, but my travel was easy. Enterprise rent a car only a couple miles away. So I was able to take a train, get to the hotel and rent a car in pretty short otder. Room was clean. Smoking and non-smoking rooms available. Additional toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, shower cap, body lotion, mouthwash, hair dryer) all included.

“Good for business, not much else”

This hotel is what it is. $6 to park after you have your parking ticket validated, which was great, just would have been happier if the front desk agent was overly helpful the first time so we understood. As far as the area, the immediate block that the hotel is on isn't nice but there are a few chain places where you can grab food. Bridgeport is obviously a struggling town with nothing to really do there and no very good places to eat. There were countless abandoned store fronts and buildings. But regardless, this is not a review of the town it's a review of the hotel in it. The hotel did there best, the lobby was really nice looking, I was surprised. When we ordered room service for breakfast it was delivered promptly and they called to make sure that everything was satisfactory. The bed was very nice in the room, comfortable. It was not dirty but it was not overly clean, saw some dark pieces of hair that were not mine in the bathroom and sink. The shower was nice though, high pressure. This hotel would work for an overnight business stay, absolutely nothing more. You have to get on the highway to do anything tourist related.

“exceeded expectations”

A lot better than I was expecting based on old experience with Holiday Inn's. Clean and comfortable. A good exercise room. Staff was great.
