“Pleasantly surprised”

Having listened to colleagues' reviews about Brest and their accommodation during a previous visit, I was a bit dubious about my impending stay. However, I needn't have worried. Upon arrival I was pleasantly surprised by this 3star accommodation. I was expecting old furniture, tired rooms, man-made fibre sheets etc. How wrong was I. The reception area was large and clean with helpful staff; the bar area was welcoming and comfy (although service a little slow) and the bedroom was much better than I was expecting. The wood flooring was light and clean and the bed was large and very comfortable with crisp white cotton sheets although the pillows were a little 'high.' The bathroom was very modern and clean with a wet room type feel and granite tops - there was no bath, which was not a problem for me. The maid came every day but at different times so one of the days of my stay the room was not serviced as I was in residence. Continental breakfast in the restaurant was plentiful. I'm not a fan of continental breakfasts so didnt eat much but still thought the price a little steep regardless. The hotel was perfectly placed for me as I was working at Le Quartz conference centre which was a 5 min walk away. Overall a very pleasant stay and should I ever have to travel to Brest again, I would definitely stay here.

Be aware that after around 11.30pm/midnight, certain bar prices increase dramatically to around 10 euros a pint (exported lager).

“Ocenia Brest”

Nice place to stay in the middle of Brest. Nice and friendly hopitality. Also a good provide the hotel a nice and tasty restaurant.

Area recommendations

I was travelling around in the area of Brest and didn't stay long in the center of Brest to give nice directions. The yacht-basin is a great area.

“quelques points essentiels à améliorer”

L' état de la chambre est tout à fait correct. Il y a des prestations qui ne sont absolument pas remplies pour un hôtel 3 étoiles. Comme par exemple le fait que le wifi ne soit pas gratuit alors que j ai constaté que des hôtels du style Formule 1 assuraient se service gratuitement. De plus l hôtel n offre pas de parking mais pour en rajouter ne propose même pas de réduction dans aucun parking de la ville. Pour finir la sonorisation des chambres est totalement inexistante.
