“The "Stinky Hotel"”

The hotel is located next to a mulch farm, it smells like a garbage dump, the smell was awful and it went all throughout the hotel.There are no restaurants in walking distance...it was perhaps the most terrible place i have ever stayed in. The staff was nice..but thats about all the good things i have to say about the wyngate in brentwood/commack Ny

Area recommendations
Topsail Island is a beautiful place to visit, the beaches are clean, Sneads Ferry is right over the bridge and you can get the best shrimp!

“Wingate by Wyndham in Commack NY Great Hotel”

I've stayed at the Wingate several times and I am very satisfied with the services. The rooms are very clean and well kept and the rates are awesome.

“Wingate by Wynbdham Commack LI”

The hotel was perfectly located at the junction of 2 parkways/expressways, and the staff wsa absolutely amazing. I will use it the next time I travel to Long Island for work. There were also some delicatessens within a few miles.

“Room maintenance non-existant”

Hotel itself was fine, but the location was next to a quarry and/or a rock supplier. Strong chemical smell outside. Also right next to highway. Couls not open window because of noise and smell. Room required work. Lamp by bed inoperative, shower curtain rod hanging precariously by parts of two screws. No end table by bed. TV was ancient. Toilet flushed, but sounded like it would not flush much longer.

Area recommendations
The area was fine and there are several other choices nearby. We just picked the wrong one.

“Great hotel, but make other breakfast plans.”

This hotel is nothing to write home about, but it accomplished its goal. Very easy check-in, nice appearance, friendly staff, and good room. The continental breakfast, however, was not good. I had to spit out a melon slice that was somewhat sour-tasting. Other than that, good stuff.

“Good place to stay”

This is a very nice, well run hotel. Staff is friendly and professional. Unless you don't mind an extremely firm mattress, the rooms are clean and comfortable.

“There only because there was no room to stay with family.”

Our first and last time here if we can help it. If we were not out of the hotel most of the day, we probably would have asked for our money back and left. Certainly not worth the price. A serious cleaning would make a big difference.

“Just ok...”

AC kept clicking on and off all through the night - not just when it hit the right temp but continually! Hairdryer broke and someone came immediately to fix it. Also, there is a strip joint right down the street so this isn't the best area to stay.
