“Nice hotel, shame about the bed!”

This was a perfectly nice hotel well located just off the old town and by the trams that go to the central station. Nothing remarkable but pleasant enough and good value compared to others of a similar type on expedia. However, the beds were terribly uncomfortable - very much like sleeping on firm gym mats, and the pillows weren't up to much either. The curtain rails were positioned around 6 inches from the window so it was very hard to block light from flooding in early in the morning. So although the rooms were clean they were not comfortable. They also had a video player/recorder in - who uses video nowadays?? Breakfast buffet was very average. So although it was fine I would not recommend it for the reasons given.

Area recommendations
The old town is gorgeous and lovely to wander through at any time. Get to Devin castle if you have time (a bus ride from under the New Bridge and run every hour in the week) as it gives experience of the countrysde and some lovely views over the Danube to Austria. Also wander up to the Slavin monument (the russian/slovakian war monument) as the hilly suburban streets have a lovely character and a leafy charm and gives you some feeling for how prosperous the country now is. Th monument also provides wonderful views over the caslte and old city. What a great town and it was very much a surprise to me.
Getting around
The 61 bus runs regularly from the airport to the central station (about 4 an hour). It takes around 30 minutes to get to town, passed a big new shopping mall that may be worth a visit. Then go through the station down to the lower section where the electric trams (as opposed to trolley buses) leave from. The No 13 takes you into the centre of town in about 10 minutes. The town is small and very walkable to use of other transport is not really called for unless you go to Devin castle or further.

“President Hotel in Bratislava - Ambience, excellent amenities, reasonal rate.”

Book, go, and you won't be disappointment. Great location, great rooms, not the Hilton or the Hyatt, but very charming and reasonably priced.

Area recommendations
Near old town, in Bratislava, because that is where most of the sites of interest are located.
Getting around
If you are near the old City the major interesting sites in Bratislava are at your door step. I arrived by train from Budapest and took taxis both way on arrival and departure. Watch for taxis, make sure they are legitamite - about 11-12 $US. There are great trams that they offer to tourist that stop at seminal spots in the old town with tapes and earphone explaining the sites of interest. You can also stroll. The food is wonderful

“Good hotel for short break!”

Having booked a double room with a request for twin beds (for myself & my mother!) we asked at reception when we checked in. Lovely surprise! They did not have a twin room so gave us an apartment instead! Two bedrooms, a lounge etc for the same price! Good base for old town and not far from the train station (walkable.) Don't expect a big breakfast! Not a lot of choice but good coffee and toast!

Traveller's tip
Eat outside of the old town!

“Close to everything”

Positive: quiet street, close to public transportation and very close to historic centre, sufficient space in the room for two people, very good wardrobe, very clean bathroom, great breakfast, great staff at front desk. Negative: my only complain about this hotel is the bed since it wasn't confortable at all. The room window was a bit dirty as well. Anyways I do recommend this hotel! Very good relation between cost and benefit.

Traveller's tip
The castle is closed! So you will just see it from outside which was really sad! The view of the city from the top was great thought!

“Good location”

Just outside the historical center, but only by a 3 minute walk. Only negative (and it's a slight negative) is for the price I thought there'd be a tub/shower; there was only a shower.

“Great location, but dissappointing once inside.”

A minutes walk from the Presidential Palace, and 5 minutes walk to the old town, the location was great. However, the miserable receptionist instantly put things back down, followed by the insanely small lift upstairs (just about room for 2 with suitcases). Room was ok in general, but bathroom floor was covered in hair, and ceiling above shower was collapsing with damp. Not nice. Breakfast was ok, but once the small amount of hot food went, it wasn't topped up (even with 2 hours of service still to go)! Worth staying if you gt an absolute bargain, but it's honestly not worthy of it's 4 stars!

“Good hotel but with some drawbacks”

The President is a new, well appointed, ideally located and clean hotel, but has some limitations. Some staff are helpful and friendly but others less so. My suite was large and well furnished but like the rest of the hotel lacked warmth. Wi Fi worked brilliantly but breakfast, included in the price, was modest. It is ideally situated for access to the airport and sights of Bratislava.

Traveller's tip
Bus 61, departing just outside the airport, takes one quickly to Hlavná Stanica station, and then Tram 13 stops at Postova, a few yards from Drevena where the hotel is situated. Airport to hotel is about an hour Public transport is excellent and buying a 3 or 5 days pass is economical and convenient.

“Bella vacanza”

“Hotel in zona centrale, confortevole”

Secondo me è una buona soluzione.
