Beautiful suite!

Posted 28-Jul-2015
We got to the hotel and had booked a standard room, changed our mind and went down to ask if we could get a suite instead. since we booked online, they could not change our reservation to the price of a suite, so they gave it to us for the price of the regular room which was a great deal! Very nice, spacious room, for a great price! One bonus was the air conditioning is not a window unit!!!! would defiantly go back!

All amenities checked out.

Pros: Text message service with hotel staff was a first for me and I would recommend it as an improvement to any hotel that doesn't do it.
Cons: My room was by an exit. Via test message with staff, I recommended installing slow close mechanism on exit doors to reduce noise.
Location: Echo Wine bar is the in-hotel restaurant. A very good steak/prime rib spot. Country bar sharing the parking lot, Anytime Fitness on the same block.
For my summer stay the AC was set to "meat locker" - nice. Prompt contact via text msg from staff made it easy to get extras for room, reservations for dinner at Echo Winebar, taxi etc. In room instructions on TV/movies easy to follow. Pool enclosure clean. Parking all around building for easy access to rooms. Express checkout worked great. I would come back anytime.

Good Hotel - value for money.

Posted 17-Jul-2015
We had a good stay here. We got two complimentary breakfasts for the restaurant which were excellent. The kids loved the pool with the waterslide -we were able to access the pool from our bedroom which was great. Very clean room. A good experience.

No light in washroom & truck had fingerprints

Posted 13-Jul-2015
The breaker blew in the bathroom and I was told that they were going to check the switch, but that never got done, we waiting all day until 10:00 pm to have this switch flipped. The bathroom was dark all day long, it was awful. Nobody came back to tell us anything about this. I also came out of my room to leave and noticed that some children had drew lines all over my truck with their fingers on the one side of my truck. It is awful that you can't park in the parking lot without kids doing things to other people's property!

My apologies for your bad experience, the bathroom light issue should have been corrected immediately. That is not the type of service that I believe in for a guest staying in the hotel.

NOT QUITE ROYALTY

Posted 29-Jun-2015
West edge of city. Fairly quiet. Not really close to anything but it is a small city. Rooms are dated and need upgrading. Great restaurant and pool area. Housekeeping could improve as the bathroom revealed hair in the sink and shower. Beds are the older spring matress type and well worn. Not enough comfort for the cost but the choices in Brandon are limited. Would stay again but not as my first choice!

May apologies David on the lack of quality. We are in the process of upgrading our guest rooms to bring the quality back up to where it should be. No excuse for a lack of cleanliness, I will address it. We are also in the process of replacing all of the mattresses in the building to a more updated mattress. Glad you enjoyed the pool and the restaurant.

Very clean, comfortable, friendly staff

Posted 11-Jun-2015
Pros: Newer linens, comfortable pillows and mattress.
Location: Not much nearby as far as we could tell.
We enjoyed our stay at the Royal Oak Inn. On arrival we were informed that the room we had booked was no longer available so the front desk staff gave us a free upgrade to a suite. The linens were all very clean and new and the bed super comfortable. The suite was well cleaned and most of the furnishings were well maintained. We had some cocktails in the lounge where we received excellent service. All around a very comfortable, clean hotel with friendly staff.

No air conditioning on first two floors.

Posted 08-May-2015
Pros.. Staff very professional. Room comfortable and clean.cons. No air conditioning on first two floors. Run by an old boiler system that they control and won't be turned on until summer, our room was pool view, so the heat and extreme noise is a deal breaker. Not bring able to adjust the heat or air or a window that opens was unbearable. On a scale of 1-10. Pool view room noise was a 10. My husband went out and bought industrial ear plugs so we could sleep when the pool closed . Front desk allowed us have a 1pm checkout at no extra cost. When we ordered room service, the price was double on our bill than on the menu in the room. When we enquired, they said prices changed months ago, but had not been adjusted in the room menus yet, only in the restaurant.food was delicious. But had to speak to three different staff to get our bill adjusted. Could not use the free breakfast, as we were kept awake by the heat until 7am. By that point, we just needed sleep as I am 8 months pregnant. I did not ask for a room change because I booked on Expedia and my bill said no changes of any kind do I assumed we were stuck. There was also a 25 dollar room charge for having a pet. Was not advertised on Expedia, that there was a charge. No fault of the hotel.

My apologies about the heat ruining your stay. We have hired an engineering firm to help us come up with a solution to allow guests to have temperature control in the room. As for the room service menus we do have new copies that are being put in each room, I am sorry that the room you were in was not completed. I am glad that the staff was professional and I hope that we will see you again once the little one arrives so we can provide a better experience.
